Bengals WR Chad Johnson will NEVER EVER dawn a Buccaneers Jersey

We've talked alot about the Bucs and pursuing Wide Receivers via trade this off-season. A month ago, Bengals WR Chad Johnson was the one Receiver Bucs Fans who frequented Buc 'Em wanted to see in Red -n- Pewter. We can all forget that day dream, there is NO WAY the Bucs would bring Ocho Cinco aka "Show me the Money" to Tampa. On the set of NFL Network's Total Access Tuesday, Chad had the following to say when asked about wanting more money:

"I don't want no money," Johnson said. "Wait a minute, stop 85. It's always about the money. This is a business. You play this game for a reason, because it's about the money. We fill those stands for those owners because it's about the money. Coaches want to win because you get new deals because it's about the money. Players want to play at a very high level because you get money. ... Chad continues to play at a very high level, so he can get that money. But right now in this situation, I don't want any money from where I am. That's not what I asked for." - Pro Football Talk

To say Chad Johnson is outspoken is an understatement and we all know that, but speaking his mind EVERYWHERE like he has, there is no way Gruden and Allen would bring a guy like that to Tampa. Regardless of whether he is going to bring his water hose and seeds to make the grass greener wherever he lands. I got to give it to the guy, he's entertaining as can be, but I think he could make things ugly in a hurry. Click here to see the video footage.

What?
What? Have you seen our recieving core lately...it sucks, we need a playmaker on offense. Galloaway is getting old man...how long you expect him to carry this wr core by himself. I dont wanna hear the bs about Ike's consistency and clayton could be the guy and stovall potential and all that crap. Neither of these guys will ever be as good as CHAD. Ignore this crap Chad Johnson...we would love to have you in Tampa. But no disrespect JScott, I still love ya bro.

Q, my man, my man
I would be the first in line to welcome Chadwick to the Tampa Bay Area, BUT I know its never gonna happen and that was the premise of this post. Chad's talk about money and being vocally opinionated doesnt bode well for the team Gruden and Allen have constructed. They even got a vocal guy in Jeff Garcia begging for Stovall and the like to get more reps (plain crazy talk)..

I hear you on our Receiving Corps though. Galloway is great (and better than i thought he would be in a Bucs uni), but he gets any kind of physical beating and he's useless on the field. For all the talk of Clayton being tough and being a great blocker, how about being a WIDE RECEIVER first!!! Hah! Stovall hasnt done much either, but he hasnt been given much of an opportunity and his injury last season didnt help his case.

This Draft in particular will be very interesting for the Bucs.. Do they go WR in the first round? CB? TE? DT? I think the entire fan base is pressuring the powers to be to Draft a WR with that #20 pick, but as years past have proven, Gruden and Allen have an ability to draft players fans have never heard of, so get ready man...

Welcome to the site!!! I appreciate you adding your opinion to the comments section. People come to the site, but they rarely voice their opinions so it's good to have someone to bounce stuff off of...

Being Vocal
I was one of those people who visit but never post a comment but I have decided to get vocal like garcia LOL. I do agree with you about Chads vocal ways but I believe that this is a guy with a winning spirit and could easily turn his vocal words ON/OFF the field into insiring words of a leader. As far as our #20 pick...I would love to see us pick a WR for the future. This is a deep core in the draft and I believe any of the top 5 could be the future of our core. I dont know what your top 5 is but to be clear on my statement my top 5 is Sweed,Kelly,Hardy,Thomas, and Jackson in that particular order. (I like big physical recievers who can create space and block) The only reason Jackson made my top 5 is because I like his ability to return kicks. Its been fun talking to ya. Q

i don't have
my Top 5 quite hammered out, but I'm leery of the tall tough types. Stovall, Clayton, and even Marquise Walker to an extent are bigger WR's and they have shown me nothing.. Granted we havent seen much success in the smaller shifty type players in Tampa either, Jacquez Green and Reidel Anthony come to mind.

For me, blocking ability for a Wide Receiver is overrated especially for a team that runs two tight end sets. Let the Tight Ends do the hard work. Stovall and Clayton should be focusing on catching the ball period.

Michael Clayton was a 1st Round Pick and he has nothing to show for it.. At this point I'd rather the Bucs go for speed, especially with Galloway turning 37 this upcoming season.. He can't last forever and his durability is starting to fade. A DeSean Jackson type would be fantastic as he upgrades two facets of the game.. It'll be interesting thats for sure

Interesting thought
After hearing your views on Desean Jackson and seing those videos...Id have to agree. We could definitely use a guy like that. Question is..can he do that at the next level? If you think so then he would be the perfect pick at 20, if he is still there.

yeah
I'm not sure he'll still be around but if he is, how could the Bucs not scoop him up. At least he has two places to fall flat on his face before he becomes a bust... He averaged 19.2 yard a punt return in College, thats gotta translate to better than what we are currently getting... Should be interesting
