If the little birdies are to be believed
It’s for a conditional pick. Assuming he just rides the bench a 7th, if he has to start a few games, 5 or 6, if Garrard goes out for most of the season, it’ll be as high as a 3.

Wow, that 2.5 million down the drain
I wonder who takes roster spot? We are only carrying 5 WR. Why not add Mario Urrutia?

We have two TE and plan on running double TE formations
You can say that we have 7 WR on the team. Winslow and Stevens are just BIG WR. They can catch the ball and they can stretch the field vertically. Mario Urrutia had a big opportunity to make some plays and he didn’t . He dropped a TD. Hopefully he can make the practice squad.

This means...
Freeman is the backup, I feel alot better to get back that pick. We will definitely see him this year, I say by our trip to London.

This clears up a lot.
Didn’t really think the Bucs could pull off a trade…props to Dominik.

Yep
I was thinking the same thing. When I heard they were looking to trade a QB I did not think we would get anything but I was wrong. I don’t even care if it is only a 7th round pick because we didn’t need to have 4 QBs on the roster. I actually think we need to have Josh Johnson as back up and let Freeman hold the clipboard.

Freeman can develop
more as the 2nd qb. He can get more reps running the offense whereas the 3rd string qb runs the scout team. Freeman is the future and when leftwich time is up, we are going to have two young, mobile, athletic and strong armed QB. I like the direction that this bucs are going in. They are not afraid to make moves and they are getting things accomplished. They said they were going to trade luke and Many (including myself ) DID NOT Think that they could pull it off. They did and it could be anywhere from a 5th round to a 7th rounder.

The deal is
that we can get up to a 5th rounder depending on how he performs…

I like the move personally
nothing against Luke, but we free up a roster spot (depth) and got a pick in return. The Glazer’s jumped the gun by signing him to a new deal, but in the end, it wont hurt us too much.

Agreed
Gruden’s concept of having 6 quarterbacks was always “Overkill”. 3 is a good number and whoever won the job between Leftwich and McCown stayed and the other would be traded. Get some value is a good idea.
