Week Numero Dos: El Diablo
So Which DB do we take in the top 5-10 next year:
-Patrick Robinson or
-Eric Berry or
-Taylor Mays
I then suggest Nate Allen in the 2nd(USF Mancrush of the Year!), and then one of the following positions: (RB, TE, DL, WR) in the 3rd. Then we get more Defensive depth because oh my lord our D is awful. Maybe a linebacker too. Also, Josh Johnson for quarterback.
Those who agree say 'Aye'.

don't worry if we go 0-6 there is no reason
why Freeman doesn’t start playing. we need to find out the future, since that is what we need to be looking at, since this team is not a playoff caliber team.

And we need DE or DT in the first round
and Safety in the second since we will be picking in the top 5

0-7 and Freeman is in.
Dont think at 0-6 and going to London that we put him in that spot. Give him the bye week to prepare. Its standard coaching/front office logic.

yeah exactually
My thing is if we aren’t going to push for the playoffs then Leftwich playing quarterback is pointless. It does the team no good, if Freeman will be starting next year.

I'm all for a Week 10 emergence of Freeman.
Before that and I think it could be a mistake.

I agree...
Week 10 would be fine, after the by would be borderline. Anything earlier and it is definitely too early IMO.

AS what a TE or a FB....
Many of the rumors is that teams do not want to take the chance at signing him as a QB, especially high in the draft, because he pulls the ball down way to much and runs it himself. If he wants to run the ball they are willing to sign him as a TE or FB. The risk is high signing him as a QB because of the money and length of time that will be contracted to him and worry every time he runs the ball that he is going to get hurt and risk the season and future of that team.

just a little correction
The actual reason why a lot of NFl teams are not fond of Tebow. He has terrible machanics. He is never under the center, his release is way to slow, his arm goes too far back before releasing, he has so many threats around him they dont know how well he can read the defense.
Why someone will draft him….as a QB, possibly the greatest college football player of all time, he has a cannon of an arm, hes accurate, hes tough as nails.

no you wont
you come to love tebow, you just dont know it yet, trust me the force is strong with him.
by Hook85 on Sep 26, 2009 12:50 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
LMAO
When he finally gets laid (not to offend any devote christians here), he will be a completely different player. The force will leave him, like Sampson when they cut his hair.

I will never learn to like Tebow.
As a person I respect him very much, as a football player, I dont see the infatuation at the NFL level.

I'd cheer for the team, but not the player
Ive done it before. I wont go buy a jersey, I wont shout his name in glory, Ill root for my team and whomever is on it, but thats it. No singling out.

Though he did get hurt tonight
and while I may not want him to break records or play well, I certainly dont want to see him or any other player get hurt. Theres a difference between rooting against someone and being a turd of a human being.

Thats good
I wouldnt expect any person to feel any different, even though many do.
I understand people have gotten tired of the Tebow media, but I will never undstand sports fans who out right not like a player when they havent done anything wrong but played great and played hard.
Sure players like T.O, Vick, Lienart and so on… have done really stupid and messed up things off the field, and they themselves are 100% the reason they are hated, but hating players because they dont play on your team, or the media is in love with them is no reason to hate.
I am sure most people wont agree.

You have alot of quarterbacks that had to ruff it.
Troy Aikman and Peyton Manning had a ruff first season. Let’s see if the kid has what it takes. Raheem Morris is sold on him, so make it gut check time. If he doesn’t peform, then it would be confirmed that Morris made a mistake.
by buccanator on Sep 21, 2009 11:15 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Well if you truly believe that he can continue to develop into a franchise quarterback
and you believe throwing him to the dogs would stunt his development, why would you do that?
Morris does love him but also knows he is nowhere close to being the quarterback they want him to be. He has made these statements publicly.

I would throw him in because it wouldn't hurt our situation as a team at all
and for his confidence, I don’t really care. He is a multi millionaire, 1st round draft pick. Mr. Future…..let me see. He wasn’t the 5th best QB in the Big 12 and wouldn’t be in the top 3 if he was still in college. I want them to know they made a mistake and get a real quarterback next year.
by buccanator on Sep 21, 2009 11:41 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
That is why i believe...
That it was not worth moving up 2 spots in the 1st round of the draft for this guy. It would be worth it if he was talented enough to come in and contribute right away by starting the season. I am one who believes that if a guy can’t start at QB in the NFL then he likely isn’t worth a 1st round pick and surely not worthy of those high dollar contracts. Matt Ryan, Joey Flacco, Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning, and several more 1st draft picks proved right away that they were worth the money. Even Mark Sanchez is holding his own and I believe that Stafford has shown that he can handle it even though they are still finding their rhythm. If it is possible to start a guy to early then he probably wasn’t worth a high draft pick in the first place.

Carson Palmer, steve mcnair, daunte culpepper, chad pennington, phillip rivers, aaron rodgers
all didn’t start their first year. There’s probably an equal amount. Plus, some guys are at different stages in their career arc. I don’t like Rivers, but he’s among the top QB’s, he sat his first year. Manning, Aikman were/are among the top QB’s, they played. Both sides of the coin.

Taylor Mays
He is fast, Quick, AND huge for a DB. Berry is great, but a lot of impact in college wont translate to the NFL, such as being a big hitter. Theres a lot of DB talent coming up in next years draft.
