Brian Urlacher out. Derrick Brooks in?
With Brian Urlacher out for the season with a dislocated wrist (WOW), Chicago surely will be looking at their options at LB. Here's some info courtesy of Yahoo Sports:
"Veterans like former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Derrick Brooks(notes) and Zach Thomas(notes), who was cut by Kansas City this month, are still out there, too. The 36-year-old Brooks, who was cut by Tampa Bay in February, has a good relationship with Smith dating to his days on the Buccaneers’ staff."
“Derrick’s been a great player for a long time in the league,” Smith said before the Bears announced they signed Tim Shaw.
I'm not saying it's impossible and I guess if Derrick Brooks was ever in another uniform I guess I couldn't blame him if he signs with the Bears. His history with Coach Smith could be key. Here's the link:

OK, maybe not.....
In SPT, Lovie Smith passed on Brooks because he wanted to go with younger players.
