Heres for the naysayers!
I am going to keep this VERY short and VERY sweet. I am an optimist and I am VERY excited about the direction the Buccaneers are headed. (talk to me at the midpoint of the season ;) This is a talented ball club. We have several young play makers on Defense. Fast, hard hitting, splash guys, just like in the days of yore. We have several young play makers on Offense. Down hill, smash mouth, pound the rock guys who would rather run you over than go around. We have an enthusiastic young couch, who got his franchise QB in his first draft. Monte and the defense weren't going to be around forever. Ronde, Rudd, Talib, Flip, Hovan, Gaines are STILL here. Sabby is a hitter AND a ball hawk. No more old QB's, with no weapons to help them. No more old and ailing receivers. No more running back-ups. No more playing it safe couch Gruden. Graham, Ward, Bryant, Winslow, Smith, a charged up Clayton, a healthy Caddie with SEVERAL other backs to help carry the load. One of the baddest O lines on the planet. A young and talented QB, ready to come into his own and lead his team. A solid veteran QB with an arm. A talented rookie.
With youth comes mistakes. There will be many. There will be growing pains. Sabby will miss tackles. Ronde will get burned. The D line will give up first downs. There will be picks. We will lose games. Some of them will be VERY close. We will scream and curse our TV's. We will blame the new coach. We will blame the old coach. We'll mythologize about the days of Dungy and Alstott (...and Dilfer?) "Those damn, tight assed Glasers!", we'll shout. They'll count us out on TV. Sapp will join in the fun. "Last in the division", they'll say. "I'm still not sure why the let Gruden go." And yada yada yada yada...
You know what I say? BUC EM!
We are the Bucs of old! We are the underdogs, just like before! Just like always! Pound that rock baby! So what if we only go .500. At least were not the Raiders ;)

I share your sentients.....
I may have an unhealthy love for the game of football and spend way to much time studying it, thinking about it, trying my best to analyze our team, The Bucs, and their opponents but that is a whole other problem but I see a lot to be excited about in the way the Bucs team is going about things and the players that they have. It is easy to assume the worse about anything but I believe that this year will be better than many others predict.
I honestly feel like The Bucs won’t be the last in the division as so many people predict. This year this division plays the NFC and AFC east teams and those teams are not known to be push overs. They are known for scoring and teams with weak defenses most likely will struggle. The Saints have had above adverage offense for a few years but still have not done well in the division and I believe that the Saints and the Falcons will have a much harder time with these teams than the Bucs will. Coach Bates’ Defense has been successful in the NFL against teams like they play this year. The word out of camp is that these defensive guys are flying around and if they are as smart with their playmaking as they are fast then they should do well.
I wish the QB didn’t make as big of an impact on the game as they do but that is just the way it is and the Player that they chose to start at QB will have much to do about the way the Season plays out. All the talented O-weapons and defensive players in the world won’t matter if the QB continueously turns the ball over.

alright guys i read this today
He currently serves as defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Volunteers, where his son Lane Kiffin was named head coach on December 2, 2008. He previously served 26 years as an NFL assistant coach, including 13 years as defensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His defensive units have finished ranked in the top 10 in points allowed and yards allowed 10 times during that period, an NFL record. and i started to think WE ARE REALLY WITHOUT KIFFIN makes u think i mean we loved our bucs even when were losing, but we really really loved when were winning even with a bad qb or qb’s in most cases SHAKE IT OFF WE CAN DO THIS GO BUCS!!!!
