Tampa Bay Buccaneers to unveil new Jersey this season?
...UPDATE...
Despite the hatred toward this color combo, the Bucs apparently attempted to use it or produce it back in 2003, to no avail obviously:

So at least I wasn't all alone in thinking this color combo looked pretty good. Considering it never got produced it appears the majority didnt agree with the idea, as is apparent on this site as well, ha!
Original post below:
Can you believe it’s been 12 years since the Bucs unleashed the switch from the Creamsicle jerseys to the Pewter and Red? Honestly the jerseys still feel new to me. I know with the Bucs wearing throwbacks one game this season I shouldn’t get greedy, but if Raheem wants to put his finishing touch on the team, he would do it by revealing a new alternate jersey this season. That would be the final change needed to completely wipe the previous slate clean. Can you point out the new jersey scheme from the image below?

Kind of sticks out like a sore thumb huh? You didn’t think I was going to ask for lame black jerseys did you? No, this new alternate has a Bucs twist to it with the Pewter on Pewter. There’s one other wrinkle in there as well… Do you see it? Notice the orange striping is gone? The Glazers should striken the orange striping from all of the jerseys the Bucs wear immediately, it just clashes with our primary colors and everybody remembers the creamsicle days by now. Also, if you implement a throwback game every other season that’s all you need for nostalgia purposes. A new Head Coach, a new General Manager, a new Quarterback, why not a new look?…
What do you think about the alternate jersey? You got any ideas yourself? Let’s hear it!

I think I just threw up a little!
I like the pewter and how we currently use it. A pewter jersey is too much. It’s blah!

I think you meant to say "pretty sick"...
…as in what all pewter would make me. Think of it this way…unless it’s all white, when has a team look good in all of one color. The Cards look dumb in all red. Baseball teams of the past look stupid when they pull out all of one color (think the old Orioles and Phillies). The all pewter just doesn’t work. Just like the all red wouldn’t work.

That's different though...
…most baseball teams have worn all grey on the road for years and years. All grey in football though. I don’t know man.

Pewter on Pewter doesn't do it for me
…But then again, the other options are black-on-pewter and ash-orange-on-pewter (the border color that is on the new jersey). Black’s been over done so much in the league that it’s not even funny (not saying black can’t look great on a football uniform and doesn’t look cool. But how do you differentiate styles when teams look the same?)
An Ash-orange color jersey is an homage to the Creamsicle without actually being creamsicle.

you might have to draw
up a sketch for that one. I’m having a hard time envisioning ash-orange

No more jerseys
How about no alternate jersey at all. I am sick of every dang team troting out these crappy 3rd or 4th jerseys just to make more money. Sitck with the 2 we have.

I actually tend to agree with this...
…I was among those very excited when they were unveiled years ago, but I think I’m over them now. Looking at the throw backs reminds me how much I like white helmets. Over the last 10-15 years it seems sports went too heavy on black, gray, and silver with uniforms.

Keep the Orange stripes. they belong.
These are not really new colors, as red was always a color of the Bucs. The old uniform had red numbers with orange trim. So that part has never changed since 77 (76 they wore orange numbers).
I think Pewter report did something a year or two ago where they used photo shop to make a pic of Mike Alstot look like a pewter jersey. It did not look bad at all.
Maybe a pewter jersey and red pants to try it out, or one preseason game, pewter on pewter, but Im not in favor of another uniform change right now. I think if you want to see Raheems stamp on the team, you need not look any farther than Derrick Brooks forehead.
Just think, last year if we would have gotten Brett Favre, maybe WE would have lost 4 of last 5 games of the season like the Jets.....DOH!!!

black jerseys would be sweet
they’ve been available in madden for the past couple of years and i’ve always wanted us to wear them. i think it would be sweet to have black jerseys with pewter pants. i would much rather wear pewter shirts with white pants than all pewter, but i think pewter shirts with red pants would make me puke.

The rumor about the black jerseys is...
…a few years back the NFL required teams to have alternate jerseys. The Bucs didn’t want one so just made a black on in the “black is a cool uniform accent” hype. They started selling them in stores. Heck, they even made numerous appearances in Madden (like you said). But they never actually had any intention of using them. Just the rumor I heard. Not sure if it’s true.
I always thought they looked dumb in the stores, but in Madden they looked kind of cool. Anything’s better than that pewter mess above.

Since there are so many opinions on uniforms...
…why not take a shot at BUCEM TRIVIA below this article! When was the last time the Bucs wore Orange tops and white pants at home and who was the QB who took the last snap? Winner gets their choice of Bucs Game DVD from any game in the 1999 Regular or Post Season.

I'd be for it...
I have always thought teams looked more “battle ready” and more intimidating when they wear solid dark colors. About like a knight wearing body armor. It’s all one color. I would buy a pewter jersey. I guess to each his own huh!

It certainly beats the heck out of that Creamcycle color!

Honestly the jerseys still feel new to me.
And they still look great in all of their permutations. They’ve got a classic look to them, while still looking sharp.
I’m a Broncos fan, and their unis have become as obsolete as Mike Shanahan’s play-calling. They might as well be wearing hammer pants.

on the bucs new uniform
well I’m a huge Bucccaneers fan I have been watching them for years and i have to say i would be a really good idea for Raheem Morris to announce to everyone.i hope he does because i want to see something new this year.

sorry, but uniforms shouldnt be changed every 12 years...
they should not be changed at least for a generation or two. I mean two generations lets your kids follow the same team you did. It took me years to get over the change. I felt like I was following a different team till 99. But that is my personal opinion.
