Who needs a QB?
I am very surprised that there are not more posts ranting about our offense. All I hear is complaining about not having a QB and on the radio we get blasted for paying KW so much money when he is not even the best TE in the league. Maybe you could say KW is not as good as Jason Witten or Antonio Gates, but even that is a stretch. This guy is a number one reciever that we have at tight end. Then we have one of the top 5 recievers in the league with Bryant assuming he performs atleast as well as he did last year. Not to mention the fact that we seem to pride ourselves on this offensive line of ours (that if they live up to the hype provide plenty of time for a slow release gunslinger like leftwhich). Which in turn gives way to the two headed beast at running back that is a different breed than we have ever had here in Tampa and also the exact mold that has been proven successful in the evolution of the NFL game over the past few years. I mean I could go on and on with little details about the less obvious facts such as the fact that I have never seen a WR run tighter routes than Stroughter, the breakout potential of Kelly Campbell, or even the chance of adding a guy that carried a team to the Super Bowl in Plaxico Burress. But anyways, do we really feel compelled to gripe about the QB situation the way we have forever? There is no way McCown or Leftwhich or Ryan Leaf or either Josh for that matter are so inept that they couldn't atleast lead this team to a .500 season. And maybe our defense is too green and won't be great, but that didn't stop the Colts. Just had to rant because I can't wait to watch the most potent offense the bucs have ever fielded. How many share my enthusiasm.....thoughts????

You are right. This will indeed be a potent offense and I dont think it will matter who is behind center.

While you may want to rant...
you are so off-base. Your rant is based entirely on emotion and no substance. Kellen Winslow is being complained about so much not because people think he is a bad tight end but has only played 2 full seasons. Partly why he has good number is those two season is the amount that Cleveland threw to him. He will take a lesser role in this offense, hasn’t played a snap, has a history of being a locker-room annoyance, likes to do tricks on motorcycles, has war flashbacks and we haven’t given Ruud a contract extension.
Nor is Bryant a “top 5 receiver.” Not even Top 10. He has had 2 productive seasons in 7 years in the league. You are talking about Stroughter’s route running? Have you been out at mini-camp? Or are you just guessing?
Our quarterback situation is a mess. Our two “starters” have been awful at mini-camps thus far and are being outplayed by an overhyped rookie from Kansas State. Seriously man, you are drinking the kool-aid.

Too much Koolaid
Bryant may be in the top 20 best WRs…… no way is he in the top 5.
Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Calvin Johnson, Roddy White, Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Brandon Marshall, Greg Jennings, Anquan Boldin, Steve Smith, Terrell Owens, Marques Colston, T.J. Houshmanzedeh are all definetely better than Antonio Bryant
I’d say he’s around the same level as Vincent Jackson, Dwayne Bowe, Santana Moss, Lee Evans, Roy Williams, and Chad Johnson.
Derek Ward was a great addition to this team. K2 is an excellent weapon for any QB…. if he can stay healthy.
things look good for this offense next season if Leftwich plays as well as he did last year, or one of the two young gunners can play well (Freeman or Johnson)
McCown should not start

Actually
AB had the 8th most yards for wide receivers last year in a mediocre offense, coming off a year of not playing, and with far fewer targets than guys like Andre Johnson, Steve Smith, and Roddy White…Yes top 5 might be somewhat of a stretch, but like i said I was ranting and more going on his potential in our new offense and catching ability than actual production

Garcia
Why did they let him go when the QB situation is uncertain?
