Price of A Season Ticket!

Recession, Depression...Words to describe the Buc's Offense? No, but A Funny thing came up while I was thinking of our current economic situation, and my choice for Ring Of Honor inductees. I started thinking that some of the guys who will get elected to the Ring of Honor, played in the Old Orange Uniforms of yesteryear that are going to be shown off(?) next year at home Vs the Packers! When I think of those Orange Uniforms Im not talking about the Orange Pants concocted by Sam 5 dash 2 Wyche, but the Orange Tops and White Bottoms of McKay's Men. You cant help but remember the hot aluminum (were they aluminum? sure they weren't cast iron skillets?) bench bleacher type seats of the old Sombrero. Renting a cushioned and Backed Bucco Bruce seat for a Buck was a no brainer, if you could afford it after paying 12.50 for your ticket! OH laugh if you must at the cost of a ticket, but considering the average worker came home with $100 a week, that was a good chunk of your salary back then. OK , who am I kidding, one look at a Ticket today and we long for the days of 1.50 Cokes and 2.50 Beers. Funny thing, those beers and Cokes only Doubled and Tripled Since the early days of the Buccaneers. So What about a season Ticket on the West Side of the Stadium so your not looking right at the Sun when its trying to get those aluminum Bench seats up to proper grilling temperature of 350 Degrees? 100%? 300%? Would you believe 3,800 Percent!?!?
Thats Not a Misprint! In 1982, a Season Ticket on the West Side of the Stadium about 40 yard line was a whopping 15 dollars! 27 years later? $575 dollars for a Club Ticket on the 48 Yard Line. Heck the 15 dollar seat was only 12 rows behind the Buc's Bench! Kind of makes that 8 Dollar Beer a little easier to swallow doesn't it! So the next time your out at the New Sombrero, the Ray Jay, remember when its September and those red seats are keeping the backs of your legs a semi-healthy shade of pink, and your putting down 5.00 Dogs, that you've got it good...and you wont have to take out a 48 month finance agreement for season tickets like your grandkids will!

Well, that's certainly depressing.
Thanks.

Oops
That wasn’t the intention….as itsnot the same value ticket. You can get a similar seat for 125, not as bad.

I have a season ticket for Tottenham Hotspur
Soccer team. Although we get more games (21 included), I am in one of the cheapest seating areas and I paid £625.
At the beginning of this season that was over $1000.
Our most expensive ticket is £1,675, roughly $2500 at todays exchange rate. Also our matches last about half the time in total entertainment time.
Dont complain too much ;) I’d give my left nut to have a Bucs season ticket.

I think his point was...
…it’s all relative to how much you like the sport and how much entertainment you get out of it. I, for instance, would love the chance to get season tickets to an EPL soccer team, but that’s because I’m a soccer fan. To me, I would also rather spend the money on football than say baseball because I like football infinitely more, but I’d have to way the difference between what I want to spend for the chance to go to 8 games as opposed to the chance to go to 81.
I actually rarely go to Bucs games at all because for me, it’s doesn’t make financial sense. No, I’m not a cheap bastard, but I don’t enjoy being at the games that much more than I enjoy watching them at home that the cost difference is worth it to me. To some people it is. To me it’s not. I’d rather spend $500 on party items to have a bunch of people over for the game than that much to take maybe a family of 4 to a game. But again, that’s because I don’t like the NFL live that much more than I like the NFL on TV.

to be honest...
I think although I would give up my Spurs season ticket in a snap for a Bucs one, that may just be because I have had it for a while and am taking it for granted. After a few seasons of only watching Gridiron I would probably be hankering for the EPL tickets again.
Oh well get my first taste of the Bucs live this Autumn, am ridiculously excited. I went to both the other Wembley games but its not the same if you dont REALLY care who wins. Likewise you’d never really find me at a ‘soccer’ game that didnt feature Tottenham.
Niko – Paul, I know him well ;)
