The Bucs signed seven try-out players to contracts Monday. The Bucs signed USF DE Jarriett Buie, OL Marc Dile, WR Amari Jackson (we did this last year with him), Louisville WR Pat Carter, Hofstra RB Kareem Huggins, James Madison CB Evan McCollough and Southern Miss T Demar Dotson. The team also released three players.
In order to make room for these seven players on their 80-man roster, the Bucs released wide receiver Paris Warren, T Andre Douglas and CB Greg Fassitt.

More than I thought would make it
I like the USF feel, but also would have liked to seen Tampa Tech’s Maurice Crum make it too.

Morris is addicted to competition
The reason there are so many is because the rookies they drafted wont actually be on the roster until they sign their contracts…. This just gives Morris and the staff a bunch of young talent to evaluate while the rookies work out their contracts.
This whole going young thing is in full gear right now in Tampa Bay. You can tell they’re looking for a diamond in the rough reciever and defensive end. Those are the kinds of things that can build a great franchise. Totally open competion with a high amount of young talent brought in by what in my mind is a good scouting team, odds are good to find at least a few great players.
The core of this coaching staff seems to have one large common ground and that is the ability to take in a groom young players. I can’t wait to see what Jags can do with Freeman, I can’t wait to see how much Bates can improve Gaines’ production. I know some of the decisions have been kind of odd and questionable, and it’s easy to bark at the rookie coach and call him dumb; but I think between the abilities of this coaching staff and the in depth work that comes from our scouting department, I think The Bucs will be just fine at this “rebuilding” thing.

RB Kareem Huggins
www.joebucsfan.com shows a clip of this guy running the 40 in 4.28 sec.
I know it is truly a long shot but with Ward and Graham both being 29 and they are both more like bruiser backs and the Bucs wanting to go with youth, Ward and Huggins could be a lot like the running duo of the Titans and the panthers of last year. Ward pounding away at the D tiring them down and Huggins just out running them. Far fetched probably but sounds good in theory.
