At least we know - Bucs receive 5th round draft pick for TE Alex Smith

Bucs Received Fifth-Round Pick For TE Smith courtesy of pewterreport.com

Just about everyone has been curious as to what the Bucs received for the Alex Smith trade.

PewterReport.com is reporting the Bucs received a 2010 fifth-round pick from New England in the Smith deal.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise since Bucs general manager Mark Dominik wanted to recover the fifth-round selection that he gave up to acquire TE Kellen Winslow in a trade with Cleveland earlier this offseason. So for me, all in all it was a good trade even though I disagreed with it initially. I am happy that we at least got a 5th rounder.

wow

we gave up a 3rd to draft him, we get a 5th round and i bet he becomes a probowler in NE while Winslow blows out his knee….this would only happen to us

he probably will succeed

but it’s only because the veterans, coaches, and pressure over there will cause him to work and focus harder then he ever would have down here…He was constantly mediocre here in Tampa. We’re lucky to have gotten something in return for him

Love it

When it comes to the draft I’m all about having a good amount of mid round picks. SOOO many great players are drafted on day two. It always seemed to me that Smith and Stevens’ abilities were almost identical, but Steven was just more consistant…. I think our tide end group is still one of the best in the league and I hope Alex plays well with the Pats.
