Aqib Talib starts a brawl at OTA's...
Bucs CB Torrie Cox reportedly sustained facial fractures in a minicamp brawl between CB Aqib Talib and LT Donald Penn Wednesday.
Talib, who's been running his mouth all spring, reportedly tried to hit Penn with his helmet but accidentally struck Cox. Cox was cut in the eye and nose area. It's uncertain if he'll need surgery. Brawling is nothing new for Talib, who also got into a fight with Bucs seventh-round pick Cory Boyd at last year's Rookie Symposium. He may face some in-house discipline.Hey guys, i credit this information to rotoworld.com

Man, im speechless. Way to go Talib, hopefully Morris opens a can of whoop-ass on him. So lets see, maybe he gets the 'Steve Smith' treatment, four game suspension... what do you guys think? How do you feel, and how do you think he should be disciplined?
I personally think he's a HECK of an athlete, however this is just unnacceptable. I say four game suspension, and practice in a pink dress til the preseason, eh?

I'm with you...
…if Talib truly did start this and was to blame then he need to be disciplined it some way. Like you said, he’s a hell of an athlete and will be a star in this league, but he has to control himself and stay away from situations like this. 4 games is too much though I believe. Didn’t Smith only get 2?

Truth is...
2 is too much. Our cornerbacks are so thin. Just run him until he throws up…..

whoops
My fault, you are correct. It was two games. But man, whatever the punishment. This guy needs to be sat down and talked to by Morris and Bates. Maybe a nice phone call from Goodell would straighten him up. 2 games are enough, (we need him) ;)

According to Penn, it wasn’t really a fight. I guess swingin a helmet so hard, you lacerate n fracture another guy’s face wasn’t meant to be a fight…

Sapp didn't attack other players in practice though.
There’s a big difference between having an edge and swinging your helmet at someone on your team.

F*CK Donald Penn. I wish Aqib would have connected. Who knows what was said and for what its worth, im willing to say Penn was probably being his primadonna self and poppin off. Maybe he would have deserved it?

Donald Penn primadonna?
You calling him a primadonna because he is looking for starter’s money for being a starting LT? He deserves to be paid as a good starting LT well because he is a good starting LT. I haven’t heard anywhere of him blowing off at the mouth. He’s at the voluntary OTA’s and doing what needs to be done.
I would say it is probably more important for us to resign Penn to a deal than A. Bryant because without Penn there will be no ball thrown to Bryant deep down the middle.
The dudewas paid barely the league minimun the last 2 years and was asked to shut down some of the leagues best pass rushers at least 6 times in our own division. You want a comparison? Trueblood who gives up more sacks and penalties than any other lineman makes considerably more than Penn.

Training Camp and practice fights happen all the time
Coaches actually like them, shows spirit.
Steve Smith kept hitting the guy when he was done.
They should and will hopefully deal with this IN HOUSE.
Both Players are KEY to winning. Donald Penn has held his own against a lot of good franchise DEs, and Talib is one of our YOUNG GUNS on defense.
...UM, So your saying in SuperBowl 37, Jon Gruden used Tony Dungys Team to beat Jon Grudens team while Tony Dungy lost his 4 straight playoff game with Jim Moras Team....???

Where did you see that he had facial fractures????
The only reports I have seen is “lacerations.” Penn was quoted as saying “It’s all good, everybody’s good”

im seein that in quite a few places
saying he sustained a few facial fractures. it’s not in the article, but it is in some others. and to Niko, i’m starting to agree with you. i thought maybe the suspension would ease his head up a bit, but we gotta keep Penn on the field. Talib ‘can’ be missed, however his presence on the field will help SO much. I think he can be the next great thing, but darnit, these fights cant keep happening. I understand fights break out, but helmet swingin?…

I'm with you on that last part...
…fights, little brawls, trash talking…those are all one thing. Taking off your helmet and swinging at someone…that’s a little much to me. That’s almost the “I’M GONNA KILL YOU MENTALITY!!!”

yea,
i have a lot of explaining to do. But i literally posted this FanPost give or take 5mins after i found out what had happened, so these were all initial reactions.
I found out later Morris punished the team for it. Made everybody run repeatedly and lift.
Given everything that has happened, i think Morris has dealt with it internally (probably a fine and a ‘nice talk’) and theres nothing more to it. I look back at it and i think i made the situation look bigger than it was. My apology guys. But i think we can all move on and MATURE (Talib).
GO BUCS!!!!!!
