OK everybody, am I the only one who has a problem with Kellen Winslow missing for the beginning of OTA's?

According to some of the other blogs, I am going to say I'm not the only one pissed off to see that K2 hasn't showed up for OTA's. For a guy with the history that he has and the money we have invested he should be out there Day 1 kissing Coach Morris and the rest of the coaches ass. The Bucs claim that they knew why he wouldn't be there, but for me there is NO excuse. Here's a link courtesy of profootballtalk.com: http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/05/12/team-anticipated-winslows-absence/. Time will tell if I am overreacting or if this is the beginning of something more.

I think your overreacting.

The team knew he wouldn’t attend which is Amazing because now adays Most players just dont show up instead of making the team aware of it.

K2 missing OTA's

It doesn’t bode well to start off your new tenure with a new team by missing any kind of organized team activity but like Maxumas said at least he notified the team. Thats a hell of a lot better than what he did in Cleveland.

No, sir...

I don’t like it…

Well I'm not a huge fan of it...

…I don’t think it’s really much of a surprise to anyone on the inside. A number of Miami guys over the years haven’t gone to these types of things and do their own training until required to be there by the team. I know it leaves a bad taste in our mouths as fans, but as long as he shows up in shape and healthy when he’s supposed to, I’m alright with it.

There’s a difference between not showing up because you’re unhappy with your contract situation and not showing up because you have a different off-season regiment.

Doesnt seem

like a huge deal in the long term, especially if the team new about it, but as a fan I want him there. I want him to be part of the team, to be healthy. I want him to show up, say the right things and play well. This is where teams are made. Now one day wont make or break, but its an entirely new team and new system. If they all go through a new camp at once and learn a new system at once, they are all on the same page.

It gets under my skin a little bit as I wasn’t a huge fan of the trade, and he should be bending over backwards to win over the team and community after his less than stellar persona at Miami and his injury prone Cleveland days.

i don't like it

But what can we do? Look the coaches know what they are doing, if they didn’t they wouldn’t be coaches…..right…?? He just better not drop a pass, because once he does he’s going to feel stupid for not showing up….he better put up

I was mad at first...

….but you dont hear the stuff you usually hear when there is a problem. The team is totally fine with it, so he obviously has made plans with the team. If they are OK with it, then so should we.

Hes Kellen Winslow. Hes going to be OK.

..and with the 17th Pick of the 2009 draft, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers remove the Doug Williams Curse!

Surprise

Was he surprised by the camp? He hasn’t worked since end of end and why didn’t he take care of his personal business then. He has been a problem in Cleveland and will continue here. Bad trade for us and Cleveland fans are happy to be rid of him. That’s as bad as baseball players having nisa problems, plan your life around your job like the rest of us

Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
