It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone, as many thought he could be the first one to go, but Brian Griese is not expected to attend Organized Team Activities which begin on Tuesday. The Bucs may still keep the veteran on the roster for a few months in case there is an injury among the others.

Its a tossup between Griese and Johnson

I would like to see Griese be traded to denver perhaps but if that’s not going to happen then its better he be released.

As of right now, Johnson is younger but can be a good wildcat quarterback or switch to another position if needed, and he has the tools.

QB’s I predict on the Roster:

1) Mccown- Definite starter/solid backup
2) Leftwich- Starter/2 backup
3) Johnson- Wildcat QB/any other position guy/#3 on the depth chart
4) Freeman- You know he’s not going anywhere-#3 to #4 guy holding the clipboard for most of the season.

Griese is gone.....age and new scheme....

new team….new scheme…..out with the old and in with the new.

If they can get rid of Brooks and Dunn…it won’t be a problem getting rid of Griese.

Leftwich-Starter
McCown-Backup or traded
Freeman-“Future Franchise”
Johnson-scout team QB

Not attending.....

Griese sees the writing on the wall. As soon as Leftwich came in and we picked Freeman, he knew he was the odd man out. From a previous regime, he was a holdover only because he could understand Gruden’s offense.

Jagz has no use for an aging QB who has a habit of throwing it to the other team at the worst times. See ya Griese, thanks for the time, but we all know your time here is done.
