ESPN's Todd McShay has the Bucs picking 12th in 2010's NFL Draft, LOL... who do the Bucs select?

Geno Atkins, DT, Georgia

Per McShay:

"New defensive coordinator Jim Bates is looking to get bigger and stronger up front. Atkins fits the mold as a squatty, quick and strong defender. However, he needs to rebound from a somewhat disappointing 2008 season in order to emerge as a premier defensive tackle prospect in next year's class."

Surprisingly McShay does NOT have Texas QB Colt McCoy going in the Top 16, nor does he have Florida QB Tim Tebow there either. USF's DE George Selvie rounds out his selections at 16 to the Miami Dolphins.

Obviously this is all laughable, but interesting none-the-less. By the way, Bradford goes number 1 to the Rams and good luck saying the 2nd overall picks name!

When I saw it earlier today, he had McCoy going to the Seahawks at #6 overall.

If our pass rush doesn't improve.....

which it probably won’t at the Left End position, then we need to find a big time pass rushing end. Pewter Report has a great article on this right now (finally signed up bc it is only $10.)

I am not sure about mock drafts....

But I read one the other day and it had that DT from Alabama, Terrence Cody I believe is his name, going in the middle of round one, I believe, and I thought about if he were to go to the Bucs. He is one massive guy and helps tremendously on the Bama D-line. 6-5; 395 lbs. and somehow finds his way into the backfield often. Just throwing that out there.

mock draft from last year was over 50% accurate. Pretty crazy with all of the variables.

Really?

I heard him and Kiper only went like 8 of 32 in the first round. Of course, I didn’t check to verify that.

That's probably true

with regards to their FINAL Mock draft. I was speaking of the “first” mock draft they do…. a year ahead of time. Some sports talk guy was talking about it the other day, so i have no links or anything to back it up.

Ah...

…that is pretty impressive. Of course they are paid to do it. I think I would be perfectly happy with a job that revolved entirely around the draft.

Paid to talk about football. You don’t have to have any athletic ability to do it. Don’t have to even be right 50% of the time. Just talk football.
