Plaxico Burress is officially a free agent, does he fit in Tampa?

Probably not. However, Jerry....you gotta break out the polls and get a vote on this one. Buc Fans, would you sign Plaxico Burress? Personally, I think the guy is going to prison, but if he were to manage to stay out of jail, I would definitely sign him. I am not sure if he fits in Jagz system or not, but holy shiite, can you imagine McCown being able to throw to Burress, Bryant, and Winslow. Now that would be insane. One thing I can say is this: What a freaking crazy offseason!

Sen

you can add polls in FanPosts… i got you though…

As for Plaxico, i would get him. He had an unlicensed gun and shot HIMSELF, lol… it’s not that big a deal.. He is 31 years old, but he’s a gamer. If this team can bring in Jerramy Stevens i dont see why Burress could be any worse. He’s probably a moron, but he’s a moron who can catch balls…

They say he could be gone for 3 1/2 years… so who knows how this will go

Yeh I'd give him a year deal or so

barring him not going to prison for 3.

I say keep an eye on him.

Once he gets out of jail, maybe. Until then, what’s the point of signing him if he can’t get on the field?

I said no...

the guy has had problems in the past. I don’t think he is a team player. Management has said they want players that want to be here. He has a lot of growing up to do and I think he is going to have to do that in jail. I am not a Stevens fan, but he has been an ideal teamate here and I don’t think Burress could do that.

It depends....

After june 15th or whenever his sentencing is, if he does some how manage to stay out of jail, I would evaluate him then and see if maybe this has helped him to mature some and hopefully change his attitude and if so then yes I would sign him. If he has not changed then no because he really hasn’t been known for being unselfish. In previous interveiws and news outlets he always seemed to be more about himself; much like TO.

Insult me all you want :)

i Don’t think we should go for him. do we not remember why we got rid of joey galloway and ike hillard? because they are old( and well there didn’t do much the last season) but I would much rather have Joey Galloway then Plaxico Burress. just my opinion. i don’t think he’s that great.

If he manages to stay out of jail

he’s worth a look. The guy’s got talent… he’d be an immediate impact in the passing game, and he’d be a nice insurance policy in case Bryant decides to move on to greener pastures next year. That said, if he stays out of jail and is eligible to play next season, I’d be willing to bet that a team more desperate for a #1 will do everything they can to outbid the Bucs… so I don’t see him landing here.

I gotta say no. Burress’ legal problems are not going away, he’s bound to be suspended/unavailable for the Bucs and that will be a wasted team slot. Better off drafting a pothead like Harvin, at least he’ll be available for all 16 games (Harvin stubs a toe) aw dammit!

I'd totally

Sign him, but only to a two year contract. I say 2 year because everyone else would would offer a 1 year so he chooses his team, and knowing him he would choose a team whom is great already (Indy, Chargers, Min, etc) so to make sure he comes to tampa a two year contract. If anything he sells tickets, jerseys, and keeps the double teams off of Bryant, Winslow and keeps the 8th guy out of the box when they are trying to stop Ward and Graham. I would love to think that if we give him a 1 year he would choose Tampa, but i know he wont so we gota give him a 2 year. With 3 pro-bowl pass catching weapons on the out side, and a 1-2 bunch on the inside, hell i could be QB and get 5 wins….

FILE - In this Sept. 4, 2009 file photo, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill aims a pass downfield against the San Diego Chargers during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game in San Diego. Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
