Well I am saddened, but.....
I guess I must support Freeman now….God, I hope he pays off…Seems like a risk though..

oh a monumental risk
the Bucs released Cato June and Derrick Brooks and have basically done nothing on Offense. They needed severe help on the defense, specifically the defensive line and they reached on a QB that probably won’t contribute in 2009..
it’s going to be tough no doubt

Yeah....
This really sucks….I have been gone all day new car shopping and come home to this….On a normal year where we didnt have worries at defense I would have welcomed this pick….I guess the D. is still a huge ??? I wonder if there is any way we could regain a 2nd rounder..

we could but it would take
a pick from our 2010 draft…. what car are you looking to get, consider me jealous

Buyig for the wife....
She is really liking the Dodge Charger R/T right now….Said she still wants to find an Automatic Mustang GT to drive….Which oddly enough we could not find on our 100 mile journey today…All 5speeds

Trade back in to the Second Round?
For what? Placekicker? How else can the Bucs brains trust make this year’s draft any more terrifying?
by witty on Apr 25, 2009 7:35 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
lol
of course mcshay and kiper bash the raiders pick…and we were right behind with trading up for freeman.
by chy07 on Apr 25, 2009 7:44 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
It would be nice if...
We could get away with trading one of our 5 QB’s + a higher draft pick next year…..But I dont see that happening..
by RuudAwakening on Apr 25, 2009 7:45 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Who’s gonna want a Griese or McCown? We just signed Leftwich in a FA session where no other team was jumping to sign him. Johnson is basically as unproven as Freeman is. We’re stuck with 5 QBs, gonna end up cutting 2 of them for the final roster. Waste waste waste…

a deal would have
to include TE Alex Smith, even then we would be trading because we have to, which is never good.

hopefully
although i think even if he falls to third i think we might still have to move higher up in the third. i dont feel real comfortable that he will fall all the way to us without making a move. lets hope though.
if we got him we would have two picks that are physical specimens with some high upside. just the first pick was a huge reach. johnson in the third would be great
by chy07 on Apr 25, 2009 8:44 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Possibility
Well we did show that we are willing to trade up to get who we want, so it could be a good possibility that if he is there in the third we may do that.

No kidding....
I woul take any one of the LB’s the packers have on the bucs….Although, I dont think I would replace Ruud with any of them, or really any other MLB in he NFL right now…

I think it is funny.....
I sport my Ruud Jersey @ BW3’s almost every week (sometimes I sport the Caddy Jersey) and no one knows who he is…He is soooooo underrated as a linebacker…With the rest of the D suffering can see him putting up some good numbers this year LOL…

Defense
I am a bit saddened that we have chosen a QB for the first round I really hope he works out. I will assume at this point that Griese is gone though. From here on out we really need to pick defense. Has anyone else noticed the rest of our southern division has picked defense it is going to suck when we have to play them. I hope Freeman likes to get sacked and intercepted.
by JRyan on Apr 25, 2009 8:36 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
LOL
i don’t think he will have a problem getting sacked as our o-line is pretty stout, but the interceptions could be a problem, more like they will be a problem nobody is perfect…

What the hell just happened here?
I go to work for 8 hard earned hours and all I want to do is come home and enjoy the newest Buccaneer for a minute. And I get this instead? Josh Frukin Freeman? Are you serious? WOW! Never have I wavered on how hard core a Buc Fan I am. How loyal a fan I am. How much I love my beloved Buccaneers. Never had I doubted my love for my team. Until now.
I almost want to run up and down Dale Mabry Buc Naked waving a posterboard in the air calling for Mark Dominik’s head. Hell, Raheem Morris’ too. I am beyond disappointed. All I have to say is that I hope they prove me wrong when I say that I believe they made a huge mistake selecting Freeman.
Mr. Morris, prove me wrong!
by TheUltimateBucFan on Apr 25, 2009 8:58 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I hope you are proved wrong....
I too am saddened….Although, never did I doubt my Buccaneersmanship…I hope Freeman proves us all wrong…Then I would write a letter personally appoligizing for doubting this decision to the Bucs front office…

lol
Sorry you had to see that outcome Seneca… i think we are all collectively holding our breathes to be honest, that Freeman proves to be a smart pick

ok ok
So maybe I over reacted a bit. Still, this year’s draft so far coupled with the fact that this off season has SUCKED big time, I am just pissed that’s all. However, the Bucs could make up for it a little bit if they trade up for Michael Johnson or sit and draft Roy Mille out of Texas. We so need help on the D line.

yeah, great value there
Robiskie will fit nicely with the Brownies

The Browns....
are picking the hell out of receivers….I think Robiskie & Massaqoui (SP?) are both great picks at receiver…

seems like we are the only team that liked michael johnson.
by chy07 on Apr 25, 2009 9:23 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Only 2 left....
2 picks left till Michael Johnson drops to the 3rd.
by RuudAwakening on Apr 25, 2009 9:46 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
happy he is dropping. but that also means no one else is that high on him. with the reports from our camp its surprising to see how many defensive ends have gone beofre him.

I know...
Kind of crazy…However, I think he could be a good addition to our team!!!

Michael Johnson
He is in the third round, so it is time to talk to KC about a TE for their 2nd position.
by JRyan on Apr 25, 2009 9:57 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
not a bad idea at all
though they have the third pick, i wouldnt be surprised to see the Lions take him with that first pick
