In Luke we trust really??????????

From McCown's past I've always felt shaky about him. Was disappointed bout his scrambling abilities to not get sacked. Leftwhich??? Good experience I guess. Is he same caliber as Griese take away the 3 picks a game. Didn't happen for Jacksonville.. I'm still not quite sure with this QB situation. We have the 5th toughest schedule for 09 a defense that is a HUGE ? , we really need to work on this QB thing will luuke even be a good back-up (like his brother) and i dont think drafting a QB is the answer, can derek anderson be the answer like when aaron brook went to shit what drew brees is doing for the saints

well Brees was bad in San diego, and then had a couple really good seasons, untill he got hurt, so the the chargers didnt want him and the saints grabbed him. Now he is one of the best. I think we have to give Luke a chance. HE could be really good

the bucs will do the most brain dead shit im sick of our taste for kind hearted quaterbacks Leftwich can be an asshole we need that

I know you guys prefer losers (Luke McCown, 1-6 career record) in Tampa instead of winners (Byron Leftwich, 24-20 record as a starter), but you should be happy with Leftwich. He’s one of the top 15 starting QBs in the NFL. very strong arm, leader, plays hurt, winner. Leftwich has been criticized for having a very long throwing motion, which combined with his inability to run much hurts him at a time when mobility is increasingly important for NFL quarterbacks. He has a career passer rating of 80.3, and a touchdown to interception ratio of 54-38. Solid but not spectacular numbers. But what about being a winner? Doesn’t production matter? Leftwich was 24-20 as a starter for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Has the NFL changed that much since Leftwich had his best season and led the Jaguars to a 12-4 record in 2005? Everybody acted as if when Jags coach Jack Del Rio replaced Leftwich with Garrard two years ago, that it was a no-brainer. Not only was it not a no-brainer, it was the wrong decision.

He’s one of the top 15 starting QBs in the NFL?!?!

i would like the see how you got that? if he’s one of the top NFL QB and there is 32 teams how come he hasn’t started anywhere? he’s obviously isn’t better then Garrad on the Jags

by Maxumas on Apr 23, 2009 4:18 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Garrad also has jones-drew leftwich never had that

are you telling me just because ur a starter makes u the best at that postion? ok for the team yes ,the nfl no no way then u tell me 15 better Quarterbacks with winning records in the nfl you think mike tomlin would give Morris a bad Quarterback? i think he really wants Morris to be great (or a great black) coach.

by bucwild on Apr 23, 2009 4:44 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I would still like to see how you can state

that, ur case is way too confusing. I agree with maxumas, how do you say that he is the top 15 QBs in the league? leftwich had fred taylor(just an older version of jones-drew) at that time and also matt jones. Plus, win records are practically useless for looking at a quarterback. Why because his defense might have sucked forcing the QB to throw deep in late situations causing him to get picked off.

Not true

Thats why it’s called a Team. Because If your Team sucks Then your QB is going to suck to. Regardless of who you are.

by Maxumas on Apr 23, 2009 10:18 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yes!!!

If he’s a starter he is better then the other QB’s on that team. and if he cant go on a team in the NFL (32 Teams) and start then thats 32 QB’s that are better then him and just because a QB has a losing record doesnt mean he sucks or is worse of a player then a QB that has a winning record.

by Maxumas on Apr 23, 2009 6:13 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

fine give me 15 quarterbacks that

give me 15 quarterbacks that are better than Leftwich right now , Leftwich will be a starter in tampa so hes a starter so give 15 better quarterbacks starters or not, is quinn better that anderson why is quinn the back-up?
u moron

by bucwild on Apr 23, 2009 6:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

fine. here, in no particular order, are 15 QBs that are EASILY way ahead of Leftwich:

Brady
Manning
McNabb
Cassel
Hasselbeck
Roethlisberger
Pennington
Brees
Rivers
Warner
Romo
Ryan
Cutler
Rodgers
Schaub

and just for fun, let’s throw Garrard on that list since the Jags seemed to think highly enough of him to cut Leftwich… so that makes 16, and that’s not even including some people like Flacco who you could make a strong case for as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Leftwich, and it’d be great to see him succeed… but he’s not in the top 15 by ANY stretch of the imagination.

by OfficerRodFarva on Apr 23, 2009 7:17 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

top 20 either.....

That is 15 that beat out Leftwich by a mile. Their are surely 5 or more that are better than Leftwich. Leftwich had his chance 5+ years in Jacksonville to prove himself, 1 season with the Falcons which were bad and in desperate need of a good QB and STILL cut him because he was NOT good enough; by the way it was a rookie who turned that team around which Leftwich in all his experience could not do. If I remember right it was Redman that beat out Leftwich for the starting QB job at first. Leftwich only came in when Redman could not produce.

I wasn’t going to go through the trouble of naming them but THANKS Maxumas!!! Those were the ones I was refering to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You forgot Spleen, I mean, Simms.

by Kilgore on Apr 24, 2009 7:33 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Moron?

Anderson is better then Quinn even you would agree with that right? because he has a Better Record then Quinn( he actually has a record) which in your eyes means he’s a better QB and it’s not cool calling yourself a moron. you might wanna get that checked out. OH and Who in god’s name said Leftwhich was starting?!?! Who’s your Source and what is he on?

And well since Rod did my Dirty Work for me ( Thank you Rod) i figured i would just add a few more to open your eyes more.(ill even go as far as naming the team they’re on since you obviously haven’t seen them play)
Carson Palmer Cincinnati
Eli or Peyton manning Which ever one Rod didn’t mention Colts or Giants
Jeff Garcia Oakland
Kerry Collins Titans
Marc Bulger Rams
Jake Delhomme Panthers (Yes i had to do it)

I would mention more but you Would Believe they were good because of there Record. lmao

Its funny

You call luke a bitch and a loser and yet, he hasn’t started a whole season yet…and talking about bitches Leftwich is a bitch by definition!!! With the Jags he was hurt more than he wasn’t and always came up short, IDK why we even signed him, Luke will win us 9+ games (and we will miss the playoffs because Panthers and Falcons will win 11+) and we will realize we don’t need Leftwich, DRAFT A OLB (to replace Mr. 55) and call it a day!!!

by shadowchicken on Apr 25, 2009 3:39 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

and thats what im saying

just because we say luke mccown is a starter he would be 3rd string on any other NFL team forget giving him his shot he had it

by bucwild on Apr 23, 2009 6:58 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

McNabb
Cassel
Hasselbeck
Pennington
Rodgers
Schaub
Ryan
Cutler
really what makes them better than leftwich superbowls, pass completion,or the tape i’ve seen on all these guys-or because there winners no what have they won i never saw Mccown there

by bucwild on Apr 23, 2009 7:40 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

...

And you never saw Leftwhich there ether lmao

by Maxumas on Apr 23, 2009 10:20 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

man…. you just have so much confidence in leftwhich..if he starts he must be better if he doesnt then mccown is better. its that simple

by ClipperMyth on Apr 23, 2009 11:18 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i disagree with officer farva

shaub, and pennington are not better than leftwich! no way! is leftwich a top 15 Qb in my view yes. hes a PROVEN,SKILLED HARD NOSED Qb with a an explosive arm on the jags he had a weak offensive line with mediocre recievers at best. i would trade j.j. and have mcown be the backup. leftwich will be your starter guarenteed!

by BUCABING on Apr 24, 2009 1:30 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

If what you say is True

The then Why did David Garrad Do good with them? he had the Same team. lol it’s not like Leftwhich Left the team. he got Cut (Cut= Not GOOD Enough or old and Leftwhich wasn’t old)

by Maxumas on Apr 24, 2009 3:18 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Matt schaub

is better, he would have been one of the top notch QBs if he made it to the playoffs (sucky defense)!! Pennington made it to the playoffs at least.

I do believe McCown can get it Done.

The offense just wont be able to rely on him making a ton of plays. This should be a run it down your throat offense that will allow recievers like Bryant and Winslow to get open for big plays in the passing game. This isn’t Gruden’s system anymore, the run is REALLY number one and will not be abandoned. Luke is an athletic guy with a big arm and this system is pretty simple. Not saying the guy is going to be a pro-bowler but This team will go as far as Earnest Graham, Derrick Ward and this offensive line will take them. And whoever plays quarterback should be suffice to manage the game.

by AP-Pirate on Apr 24, 2009 1:45 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Well said.

I agree. They are going to run a lot more. Hopefully Cadillac will be in the mix too. By the 4th quarter, other defenses will be wore down. WE NEED DEFENSE. Jerry @ 19. Try to trade Griese for a pick. And I don’t think anyone is giving Josh a chance. He is our QB of the future. Let him learn instead of being thrown to the wolves like many QB’s. And if we must get a QB, please go after Derek Anderson. He won’t cost as much as some of these QB’s, and he is proven when healthy.

btw werent u saying

bruce gradowski is the future of the bucs , thats what i dont want to happen with jj or luke
u eather got it here or u don’t and forget all this future stuff we need someone now, give us back our 99defense and luke or jj could get a shot but we need to be strong on at least one side of the ball maybe i got a little crazy about leftwich,im really scared about this season

nothings happening NOW

just wait a little bit ride out the next couple years and bucwild we do have a strong side of the ball its called our offense i know its a new concept because were used to having boring games where we score a few points and hope that our d can hold up for us im looking forward to the high scoring games instead of the boring ones

and i just got one question to really ask...

what do we have to lose? why not trust in mccown or jj right now? if one of em really suck it up well have a terrible record and get a better draft pick instead of going 8-8 and drafting mid pack like we have the past couple years really i dont see a bad outcome from that situation were not gonna win the super bowl or anything this year
