Finally got your selection in for the Stampede Blue Mock Draft
I selected Peria Jerry for you guys today. Here is my reasoning behind the selection:
Since their inception into the NFL in the late 1970’s, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the laughing stock of the entire league. It was not until the 1995 NFL Draft, where they selected a defensive tackle (Warren Sapp), who later became the linchpin of one of the greatest defenses of all time. This helped the Buccaneers move themselves up the ranks to an elite status. This year the Bucs will try to do the same thing by going back to the roots that made them successful by drafting Peria Jerry. Though he may not have the Ideal size for a Jim Bates DT, he has all the tools an elite DT is required to have in the NFL. His ability to quickly penetrate into the backfield will not only help bolster the Bucs poor run D from last year, but also provide a pass rush complement to the up and coming Gaines Adams.

It's a good pick...
I believe if Peria Jerry is still there (and I hope so) that will turn out to be the player The Bucs draft at 19th over all. I read an article that talked about Jim Bates’ defense and how on paper they could see Gaines Adams and Jimmy Wilkerson ( the two DE) having high numbers this year in sacks and pressuring the QB. If that holds true then a guy like Peria Jerry would just raise that percentage and allow the LBs to control their gaps better and be more productive.

...
… but Peria Jerry is a 3-technique, one gap tackle.
by all indications, Bates wants 2 gap tackles… or at the very least, 2 gap capable tackles.

Hence
Jerry does not have the Ideal size for a Bates DT. However, Jerry is too talented to pass up at this point and is big enough to play at UT. His ability to quickly get into the backfield will be a great asset to help the Bucs run D (since penetration kills the run game every time) and increases the pass rush that has been lacking since Rice began to decline and the loss of Sapp and McFarland.

I say
Go for the most talented Defensive player at 19. IF it’s a DT, CB, or OLB, we need to get young at all 3 so why limit ourselves. For the record i hate FLip playing OLB. I think he should stay at SS but what do i know right?
