Terrell Owens Released by Dallas Cowboys
It appears everyone's favorite soap opera star is available. The Dallas Cowboys released wide receiver Terrell Owens on Wednesday night.
So, should the Bucs go after him? On one hand, he is talented. On the other, he's a headache. Give us your thoughts.

If there was a HECK NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! option
I would’ve chosen that one. His skills are good, but diminishing due to age, and he’s a homewrecker. Move along, sir.
Cannons... fire them.

Agreed!
No! No! No! It is a terrible idea with a young quarterback and and a rook head coach. Jags doesn’t put up with crap and that wouldn’t go well with TO. You can’t confront him and you most def. can’t change him. I have a feeling he will end up in New Orleans, Chi-Town or San Diego.
We got to start doing something though. The “Waiting” game is only getting worse with losing Buchannon and very likely Phillips.

No way jose
Bryant can do everything TO can do and more. When will teams ever learn? Stay away from this guy.
I’m praying that the Redskins sign him.

Disagree.
Owens is still an elite talent. Just a jerk.

Agree to disagree
At this point in his career, TO isn’t as good as Bryant is. TO was mailing it in towards the end of the ’08 season.

i would love to see the Redskins
overpay to get him… even if we do have to face them this season

Roy Williams released too...
I voted no, but for the same reasons that a lot of people wouldn’t want Manny Ramirez on their team, but then again they’re both real productive players (Manny more so) but I don’t think the Bucs would take him on.

Manny is one of the most productive hitters ever...
…is T.O. one of the most productive receivers ever? Yes, he might be. But Manny helped teams win 2 championships. T.O. helped a team get to a championship. I don’t think either are the type a team rebuilding or reloaded or rewhateverDominikwantstocallit would take on. They are the guys who a team near the brink would look to add as a productive player that could push them to the top regardless of personality. In our current situation, I don’t think it works.

Maybe being released by the Cowboys...
could give him some humility…….he has skills….can’t deny that….just have to put him in his place when he gets there…..Raheem is a different kind of coach then TO has ever played for……it might work
by twrestlinga on Mar 5, 2009 11:35 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
And in this case, the description of "Different" means
“First time head coach”
The Bucs are rebuilding, TO wants his ring. That alone should make the conversation moot. I know you’re just making the case that maybe things would be different for TO under Morris but I highly doubt it. A prima-donna is a prima-donna wherever they go, regardless of whot he ehad coach is and who the players surrounding him are.
And remember there is a leadership void that was just created by the Bucs by releasing Brooks. While Barber might fill it — would you want someone like TO and his attitude filling it?

I think he's been around for too long...
…if he was going to change, it would’ve happened already. This isn’t a guy that has gone from stop to stop and won championships either. The idea of him as a talented receiver is nice, but too much comes along with T.O. the person. I’ll pass.

Agreed
Raheem might knock him out on the sidelines and we don’t want that……I could see T.O. running off at the mouth and Raheem getting pissed off and the players holding each other back…..yeah…bad bad idea

UFC 197.....Raheem Morris vs. Terrell Owens....
Young coaches tend to be more up in your face style……T.O. couldn’t handle that….Morris seems to me is going to run a bootcamp style practices…..He wants players that aren’t going to take days off(unless legit injuries)……that works for me

To everyone that is voting Yes...
You realize that he is 35 years old, right? Just what we need…an old wide receiver with a bad attitude.

Good point.
I’m actually very surprised the YESs are currently doing so well. Although if you add up the NOs, they still have the lead.
And a quick shout out to Mr. Harper who has 10 votes!!! His most in any poll so far!

I can't believe the majority want him here.
He would be poison for a developing QB. He is poison anywhere he goes.
by andy.ss80 on Mar 5, 2009 2:14 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
The majority don't....
There are three categories for no. However, there are still QUITE a few people who want him. I would love to hear from more of them

That's true...
I misspoke there. I still am surprised to see it close to 40% though. Especially on a rebuilding team with no idea of who is going to be throwing to him and how much that might happen – we know what happens when TO doesn’t get the ball.

NFL Live
just reported (via Mort) that the Bucs are NOT interested (good). He has a list of 23 teams that are not going there.

The results to this poll are shocking
Bryant, Winslow, T.O.
Whomever our QB ends up being would jump off of the Skyway.

i'm hopeful
that the ‘yes’ votes are coming from our NFC South brethren…
