Community Mock Draft Help
Greetings Buc fans! im metal_militia, a Colts fan who you can often find posting over at Stampede Blue. As you can tell by the title we are having a community mock draft over there and I am selecting for your team. I noticed that JScott, the head blogger of this fine site, has a draft board already set up. Im sure not all of you agree with it so I am asking for your help as to who you guys are interested in so I can make the best pick for your team. So tell me a couple of positions of need and players you feel can help fill the void at those positions of need.

The majority have spoken for either
Peria Jerry out of Ole Miss or Percy Harvin out of Florida.
Other names that have been thrown around Josh Freeman (QB – KSU) though most think he’s not really an upgrade.
Ron Brace DT – Boston College, Alphonso Smith CB-WFU, and Heyward-Bey.) These 6 are probably getting the most love from the Bucs community.
I go with Smith.

Really
i dont really know why so many people think that Tampa will take another CB in the 1st round. I like Jerry but i dont think he will be there at 19. So i would choose Ziggy Hood or Freeman

Well Metal..
Honeslty if Peria Jerry is there in the draft at 19. i’m about 95% sure they will pick him up (Despite all the talk about his height and weight) simple because WE need him. and if he’s Not there and "Ziggy"Hood is, Then i would think they would go that way, Ziggy is a amazing Pass rusher which we have been lacking. And if they don’t go any of those ways then you can see them going for a LB such as Arron Maybin Who also plays DE.

glad to here lots of responses
right now im not up yet as we just started. but I wanted to get early info on who you guys want so I can make any change if the player that you guys are eying is off the board. So far I get the feeling that CB and DT are top priorities with a couple of top rated LB’s in mind if they fall.

its really a complicated pick....
I would say If Sanchez is there at 19 pull the tirgger on him (which i doubt highly), if not then go to DT in Peria, if hes not there then we go to LB and take a look at whos available, This draft class, for us, has a false categorization as having good LB’s. By this i mean there are a great number of good 3-4 LBs and less that are fit for 4-3 i think Curry, Maluga, Cushing, and maybe James Laurenitis are the only natural 4-3 first round LBs correct me if im wrong. If not we will trade our pick for a later one and pick up ziggy hood.

My opinion
I know by reading many of these post that many people have many favorites they would like to see be drafted to our team. Out of all of the interviews that I have heard and read from the Bucs organization I get the feeling that they will address the defense with the first pick. We are lacking at the DT position and many people feel strongly about Jerry Peria. If not their then we will probably draft CB Alphonso Smith. Why another CB in our first round pick, because they say he has the talent ( he has been compared to Deion Sanders) and he could fill the place that is open by Phillip Buccanon going to the Lions. With Jermaine Phillips moving up to a LB position they may even look for a Safety but highly doubtful at #19 pick.
