Haynesworth wasn't ready to join Re-Build
Washington Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth provides a little insight into why he picked the Skins over the Bucs:
"Cutting a bunch of those guys and having a bunch of new starters didn't help the situation any. I felt comfortable with Raheem. He seemed to be a good person and he's going to be a good coach, and I thought they had a lot of upside. I guess they wanted to have that fresh new look and that's what they went for. It didn't really scare me off, but it didn't really help the situation." - St. Pete Times
I take these quotes to mean Albert wasn't ready to join a team in rebuild mode. I don't think he saw Derrick Brooks get released and think, 'That could be me'. Keric touched on this in the comments section, this is a overlooked obstacle for most of us that inevitably came into play this past weekend. You can't make a guy sign that doesnt want to sit through a rebuild.

but if we had 3 or 4 of those players.....
We wouldn’t be rebuilding…..we would have been reloading……even with McCown….we would have been a playoff team with Haynesworth…..Houshmanzadah….Canty…..Boley….Vilma……..etc ….etc…..that is all they had to explain to them……

no doubt
you said it earlier, i think Dominik’s free agent options blew up in his face i.e. Vilma, Haynesworth. If he had signed those two we would still have playoff asperations.. the team just needed a QB to step up..

Not only that it would have taken the initial sting of
losing 55 away.
Speaking of teams “re-loading” the Saints are LOADING up. Not good when you watch a division rival do that and you are losing players faster than you can replace them.
Any word on Jermaine Phillips yet? What teams are interested in him?

he might be
a real possibility, should we lose out on the remaining options: Jabari Greer, Phillip Buchanon etc

Alphonso Smith is gone suprise sum ppl
I know hym personally because he went to high school at my skools rival skool, this guy works out with anquan boldin and santonio holmes every off season. He trains with theses guys, tests his coverage skillz against them everything, and if he can do good against Bolding and Holmes he’s gone b good.I see a prototype of Bob sanders in him just wait and see.

I think Morris and Dominick are trying to get a little to young.
You need veteran guys to teach the young cats i.e.Derrick brooks skooling Barrett Ruud…Barber and Buchanon skooling Talib..Ray Lewis and there whole d@mn defense…And 1 of the biggest of all Drew Bledsoe and Tom Brady…and also Chris Carter and Randy Moss.Do you knoww if by stretch of the imagination we make it to the plays offs almost no one in our locker room is gone have any expeirence except barber. Some of these early 30 guys like Coles, and Ray we need to consider they know how to play the game and they can skool the Younginz…

agreed
like the old redskins
i cant remember the coach but he hated rookies
he would trade all his rookies for veterans
they made it to the play offs and won alot of games..but the down point of too many veterans is they cant last
its got to end sooner or later
i think the best of teams must be balanced between young and old

george allen
George Allen as head coach. Partial to seasoned veterans instead of highly touted young players, Allen’s teams became known as the Over-the-Hill Gang. “The future is now” was his slogan, and his players soon proved him right
