Cannon Shots: Bucs interested in trading for RB Michael Bush, signing Henderson, McGowan, Barnes

Free Agency is OFFICIALLY upon us!!

Free Agency has begun, with it the Bucs have yet to make a roster move, but we'll keep you updated throughout the day here...

  • The Pewter Report has learned the Bucs are interested in former Saints WR Devery Henderson, S Brandon McGowan (Bears) and T Khalif Barnes (Jaguars).
  • If you'll remember the Bucs were interested in Henderson last off-season. McGowan would provide depth at Safety should Jermaine Phillips not return. Barnes would push Donald Penn or Jeremy Trueblood for playing time.

  • The Pewter Report has also learned that the Bucs may trade for Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush as he's been put on the trading block.
  • That's pretty odd news considering Bush just completed his first season with the Raiders. He's versatile enough to play RB and FB. He would provide the Bucs with a big body known for running downhill. Injuries are a major concern with Bush.

    Henderson would be nice.

But it would probably eliminate getting TJ.

    On second thought...

Henderson wasn’t that great when he had Drew Brees throwing to him.

    granted he had to compete

with Lance Moore and Marques Colston… It’s eerily quiet on the Bucs front…

    I know...

And I shouldn’t expect pro bowl type players with every acquisition. But I can’t help but keep waiting for more names to be announced.

    Bush...hmmm

I wanted him out of Louisville….injury thing is a problem but after he worked us over in the last game of last year…..i think he is better now…..I don’t mind trades and all but what happened to the FA market….

    the market is real quiet

i dont know about trading all of our picks away, but our past doesnt bode well for the draft despite having a new staff in place

    I agree.....

I have always looked at the draft as a future prospect thing….not taking care of problems now…..With the cutting of Brooks and co. we have to make good in FA …….I would love to see Ruud (100+ tackles) Vilma (100+ tackles) Boley (100+ tackles)…….solidify the LB corps…..I want Canty(FA), Hovan, Sims, Adams up front…..and a little help with 1st round pick like Perry DT……..Bryant, Houshmanzadah(FA), Henderson(FA), Engram(FA), Winslow Jr(TRADE)…..solidify the WR corps….Ward(FA), Graham,Williams…..@RB……that with our young but talented OL…..McCown could definetly take us to the playoffs….NEXT YEAR!!!!!

I don't think Perry is worth 1st round consideration

but the rest of that list would be great… well until you get to the end with McCown… but eh.

the more i think about the acquisition of

Winslow the more excited i get, the guy is pure entertainment and he has the ability to back it up… Hopefully injuries dont plague the rest of his career in Tampa

The Youth Movement is upon us......

I don’t think anyone 30+ will get a look……..tons of talent out there in that 25-30 range with 4-5 yrs experience……that is where they will concentrate on

    Michael Bush and Henderson

would be outstanding pickups, regardless of how much Henderson pissed me off in fantasy football this past season…. add Vilma to the mix and I’ll be … impressed.

    Vilma resigns with New Orleans

there goes another FA out of the mix

    Brian Dawkins signs with Broncos...

another one down…..another one down…..another one to a different team

    .

We need to hurry up and re-sign Buchanon before this gets ugly. We also need to step up talks with Boley as he is a key name now that Vilma is gone. IMO Boley is a better fit than Vilma for us considering he already plays the weakside in a similar system. Imagine Boley, Ruud, and Black running around out there. You would think they would want to fill a spot at weakside before strongside because of how much more developed Black is than Hayes.

    As a Michael Bush tracker

I will slam my head against my filing cabinet if you guys sign him. I know the Raiders want him to play fullback, but he’s a truly talented plus-size back who can run people over. If you get him on top of Kellen Winslow, I’m P.O.ed.

    with love!

What are your thoughts on losing Boley? Were ya’ll ever in the Albert Haynesworth running?
