Garcia to the Jets?
For some odd reason I found myself watching the 4-letter network career recap for Farve again…Deja Vu. During that session the discussions of the JETS QB for 2009 was a hot topic...and although Garcia was not really mentioned the criteria for Rex almost spelled out Garcia’s resume. WANTED: A veteran QB, that has a proven record of wining preferably a few Pro Bowl appearances, does not turn the ball over, and would be comfortable with a dink-and-dunk offense and a two-year deal.
So I began to wonder, can we get anything for Garcia? I'm not a contracts person...so do we have an leverage to get something out of this?

It doesn't seem like we would.
He is a free agent. Unless we did a sign and trade, but that is risky. I think he will be a Jet next year.

Garcia
I think we are making a big misque….All the guy did was win and I think we could have give him a deal and let Griese be the one to go to the JETS….He’s proven that he can run any off asked of him and he doesn’t have to sit the bench for 2 yrs and waste our money. I do believe we have more needs to fill and for 2 yrs we could have addressed those needs and then who knows.

I like garcia
but it is time to move on. He’s going to be 40 by the end of this next season and will only be avoiding the inevitable when it comes to the future of our qb.
I think he can still play somewhere and I hope he does find a spot where he can win.. maybe a team that is only missing one piece like minnesota, but no longer the bucs.
.He’s proven that he can run any off asked of him
actually this is completely the opposite of the truth. He can ONLY run a west coast offense. He has proven this throughout the years. Don’t ask him to run a vertical attack or anything but quick outs.

Garcia is certainly...
Serviceable but the reality is it won’t be for us, we can only hope that the time on the bench and the several years of back up experience will allow McCown to prosper. My expectation is the McCown will win the job in the offseason and Griese will be ‘Who we thought he was,’ a backup.

I'd take Garcia over Griese
but realistically, even before he said it, we all knew he was done with the Bucs. Aloha Jeff!
