Way to go Browns!
Congrats to the Browns! They beat the Steelers last night 13-6. I don't usually cheer for the Browns, but I couldn't be happier than I was last night.
This brings us one step closer to getting Suh in the draft. The man is a beast, and I want him to be a Buc. Bad. We were the third pick after the Browns and Rams due to tiebreakers, now we're #2. With a good chance the Rams take their QB of the future, this brings us tantalizingly close to getting Suh in the draft.
Its tough for me to hope the Bucs lose out the rest of their schedule, but this year is lost. Suh would be a great start to next year.

Glad I'm not the only one who sees this
I feel guilty feeling not completely unhappy when we lose close games (after the attrocious start). But I really want Suh – he looks like a complete beast on defense. I remember the days of LeeRoy and the days of Sapp. The Bucs historical trademark (when we’re good) is dominant defensive lineman. Step right in Mr. Suh and join the club. (I was thrilled with the Cleveland win b/c I don’t like Pittsburgh either ;) Go Rams
(Oh and I also didn’t want to go winless – that would completely have sucked. But 1-15 and the number one draft pick – I think we’d have some more hope)

I feel a little guilty too
but lets be honest, this year has always been about next year anyway.

Very true
At least we aren’t living in some fantasy land where we expected results out of our team this year.
I live in the DC area and the people here are nuts. They don’t realize that they don’t have the pieces and need to set their expectations accordingly.
If the Bucs get the number one draft pick this year, I’ll be stoked. if the Rams get it, but draft a qb – I’ll be even more stoked :)

Suh at #2 would be perfect hehe
I agree. I never expected us to do well this year. I expected more than 1 win, but hey, you know how that saying goes. When life gives you lemons, draft Suh.

I still think the Rams would take Suh at #1,
Unless they see the next John Elway on the board at #1. Who would that be in this year’s crop? I don’t see it. Morevoer, Spagnuolo is a defense-based guy, and would jump at the chance to improve their front.

I agree
Esp. if the only decent guy they have is chris long, with Suh, at least they have 2 guys and teams can’t triple team a guy…i want to lose out, but lose by like 3-7 points each….that way, once we get Suh, and Freeman will have SOME experience, those 3-7 losses will turn into 3-7 point wins…

The Rams are stupid if they don't take a QB this year IMO
This is going to be the deepest class in ages. Clausen, McCoy, Locker, and Bradford are all probably legit first round picks. If they can’t find their next QB in this class then they should just hang it up. They have been competitive this year, and although the defensive line could sure use a boost, I think they will go QB for PR reasons if nothing else.

I wish I could agree with you and have tried to talk myself into it
but the Rams FO has already said that Suh is at the top of their list. Quarterbacks can be found in any round, dominating DT’s are rare. Lets also not forget the Rams have found a few QB’s that weren’t first round picks which may lead them to think they can find another one on the trash heap somewhere.

I agree
but you would think that the ownership wants the fan base to get excited about the football program again. Suh would immediately improve their team, but it is hard to get excited for a defensive tackle. A quarterback is “the face” of the team and would sell tickets and give the fan base hope. Why did they give Jason Brown all that money to come play center for a scrub quarterback, not to mention the fact that they drafted Jason Brown last year. Doesn’t make much sense.
I think Suh is at the top of everybody’s list as the most talented player in the draft, so that statement doesn’t really sway my opinion. Ultimately they may draft Suh, but I think it will cost Spags his job when they go 3-13 next year in the worst conference in the NFL with Bulger or some other scrub behind center. Plus, the coach doesn’t ultimately make this decision, but the GM does. Not to mention that the team may very well have a new owner by next season, as they are still for sale.
This is all purely conjecture but I honestly think their plan has been to take a QB this year for awhile. Why else haven’t they addressed this the past few seasons. If they can make some moves for a 2nd first rounder then I think they should take Suh, but if no one is dealing then they "need’ to take a quarterback.

Well, we drafted the face of our franchise and that wasnt and hasnt been met with renewed hope or more tickets purchased.
Not a great countepoint, just something to think about. If I’m the Rams GM, no question I take Suh if he’s there. A QB will be there in the second and if you have one that you have to have, then you move to get him, but you can’t pass Suh up right now. Suh and Long at DT/DE and Smith at OL gives them a solid core to build around and can protect their future QB and Lauriniatis (sp?)

I guess only time will tell.
Let’s just hope that their crappy team manages to get a win and our crappy team doesn’t. Then we won’t even have to worry about it.

Or
lets hope that their FO goes QB. Ive tried to talk myself into that as the Rams FO and I, as a Bucs fan, hope that they do take a QB if they get the #1 pick and Suh slides to us at #2.

Let’s go ask them over on their fansite. I’ll put up a fanpost.

Seriously, like the Rams fans know more about what the Rams will do than us Bucs fans.
it’s not possible.

You make a good point here..
In Tampa Bay, we would actually get excited about a defensive tackle that would remind people of Warren Sapp.
That would not have the same effect in St. Louis, which WOULD get excited about a QB.
If the Rams get the no. 1 pick, this Bucs fan base is going to need cases of anti-anxiety meds for the months up till the draft.

Nah, they'll take Suh
They have a defensive minded coach for starters, and they can make a deal for another 1st to get a decent QB. If we were in their position, I would have no problem with them taking Suh and trading next years first for a QB this year.
Actually we are, but I don’t think we need a QB, we need more defensive players.

The Rams'll take Suh
And get a good QB in the second round. That’s what a deep QB talent pool does for you. It allows you to wait – unless there’s one guy you’ve got ranked way ahead of all the others.
Oh Mr. Rams Brass Man – fall in love with Clausen…
