Thanksgiving Day BUCEM Predictions!!!
We asked three of our guys to preview tomorrows games for us!
BUCWILD
GreenBay Packers at Detroit - In what has become an annual tradition, the Lions will get stomped at home on Turkey Day. This time they won't have Matt Millen to blame though. Stafford and the Lions have shown some progress, but with Stafford out to a shoulder injury and Megatron most likely not playing, the Lions just don't have what it takes to keep up. Green Bay seems to have found a way to protect Rodgers, and thats by throwing more short passes than long ones. Look for a balanced attack as Green Bay rolls through Detroit.
PAUL
Oakland at Dallas - The Cowboys have not been playing well, and the Raiders seldom do. Coming off an unlikely win against the Bengals at home last week, the Raiders will get a reality check when they walk in to Dallas on Turkey Day. Cowboys 31, Raiders 17.
CRAIG T
NewYork Giants @ Denver- Giants' offense seemed to be clicking on all cylinders last week. Denver will score, but the Giants will go to the air with surprising success against the talented Denver secondary, taking the game in the 4th quarter. NYG 24, DEN 20.
Thanks Guys...and we will have our whole staff's predictions up by tomorrow morning.
What about you?
Are you smarter than our Turkey? Lets hear your predictions...

Seems like the Broncos have fallen to reality.
Not sure they are close to the team they started out as. I still don’t buy NYG though either.

The Broncos
started to believe their own hype and quit showing up for games. McDaniels is too young and dumb to steer them back in the right direction. He may be smart, but obviously he has a lot to learn about how to overcome adversity, which is 50% of head coaching pulled that number out of thin air

Oakland at Dallas? Seriously? Who’s idea was this?

There is no agreeing...the NFL makes the schedule, and teams just deal with it. Its not college.
There MUST be one AFC team to play either at Detroit or at Dallas.
Oakland has a large market, and perhaps this game may feature the AFL throwback stuff; as Dallas/Oakland were two teams dominant in the 70s.
However, I agree, they could have picked someone better. San Diego, New England, for starters would be a more attractive match up.
Then again, does it really matter? Its Turkey day, and the sets across America will all be on no matter the game or who is playing.

I was watching
ESPN and they were implying the teams have a choice if they want to continue playing on turkey day every season. Ofcourse it is ESPN, most of the time they get it right. But I suppose they could of been distorting the facts.

Hook85, if Im wrong I will apologize, but Ive never heard of that before..
for example, the Bucs certainly under Jon Gruden did NOT want to do that, if you remember it turned into a 3 games in 11 days.
This is an interesting topic, lets see if anyone can get a full answer on it.

I found this article from this week,
Giants owner complaining about the Thursday game, and talking about how they should change the system to take volunteers to play the road team instead of just the schedule.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/17/giants-owner-doesnt-like-thanksgiving-schedule/
So it looks like they have no choice..and it may be a rotating thing since Green Bay stopped playing the Lions on a regular basis, but Im not so sure about that part, or the Bucs would have played more often.

Yea your right
I guess ESPN was just talking about the Cowboys and the Lions being happy with it, and not complaining. Especially since they play at home. But the away teams dont have a choice, I think they should though. A volunteer basis, and if no one does. Then pick a team.

Not sure Oakland is a large market
but they do have a large following. I have also noticed that their stadium is more empty than ours on Sundays too, which is expected when you don’t play well. The only game that was worth watching, was the NY and Den game, and it wasn’t even close. I normally don’t have a problem with Detroit and Dallas hosting Thanksgiving games, but they should be better matched than what they were today. Really kinda sick of Dallas being pounded down our throats every week, so when I get home from the Bucs game, I feel like I’m forced to watch Dallas. So until FIOS is allowed to sell NFL Sunday Ticket, I’ll just turn off the boob-tube, if Dallas is on that is.

Yeah, I havnt seen him yet, I was looking fwd to seeing him too. Latest word on Fox pregame is he still MAY go.
By the way, can we now finally announce Brighthouse as the Liars they are? Now that every other Cable co in the Bay area has the NFL Network except Brighthouse; who used to say NFL Network was the bad guy because they charged too much. Brighthouse will give you 5 shopping channels, but they cant find the way to give you NFL Network.
Even Sprint Phones give it to you.
By the way, if anyone hasnt tried it yet, that RedZone channel is plain incredible. They literally go from one game to the next and show you all the action from teams in the red zone. They will show a split screen if two teams are going to score. May not be worth the money now as you cant get it per week and season is gone, but if they offer a cheap package for last 6 weeks, and your interested, jump on it. Its a great view.

You deserve it for not dumping on Denver so quickly.
The Giants looked all kinds of frustrated instead of Denver.
