as we all know our game this week could be ugly, going against such a veteran offense and possibly a hall of fame coach. we need to get pressure on Donovan Mcnabb and rattle him, besides last week we haven't been able to get anywhere near a quarterback. I feel Jim Bates defensive scheme is a joke. Sure it worked in miami with Jason Taylor, Sam Madison and Zach Thomas .. but it didn't work many other places, especially denver ! Look at denvers defense now, top ten and getting tons of pressure on the quarterback. If this team keeps following bates scheme on defense we'll end up with players like jarvis moss and fail horribly

Ending up with players like Jarvis Moss has nothing to do with scheme

The players are scouted, so Jarvis Moss falls on the Denver scouting department. And I’m not sure why some variation of Morris’ name is in the headlines here

Blaming the coach isn’t going to help- god, for that you need the players to perform, what do you suggest- We become the Oakland Raiders? and start firing coaches midseason?

The problem with Jim Bates is

there isn’t any imagination with his defense and zero adjustments are being made at halftime. This is suppose to be a blitzing team and I haven’t seen any aggressive play calling. You might blame that our Safeties are lacking, but how long are we going to be cautious. He has to go as well as Olson at the end of the season.

Bates isn't the problem

players are the problem, and the two people who have all say over the players, Morris and Dominick. I would have no problem at all with a coaching change either, a high school head coach would do better than a 32 year old secondary coach.

What different players would you have on the team…its not like you can add whoever you want. I don’t care who the coach of this team is, they would still have a losing record.

Not insulting your ability as a Football Mind

but do you know how defenses are suppose to be ran. Schemes and such? His defense is primative, it take the defensive line completely ot of the game.

My current position on Head Coach Raheem Morris is this..

He may be all the negative things people are saying he is. But also may be the next Chuck Noll, Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson, or Bill Walsh. All of these coaches have one thing in common. They won around 1 game in their first years with the team.
Is it because they were poor coaches? Or because they were brought it and scrapped existing players to bring in their own better players, and turn around a franchise, in these cases, 4 dominating multiple Superbowl winning franchises.

The point is, you just dont know…and it is too early to tell. Eagles fans get all over Andy Reid for his poor clock managment, just watch the Enemy Flashback this week and look at how the Eagles handled the end of the first half. And this is a coach that has been to 5 NFC Championship games in the last decade!

Also, finally, as a matter of policy, I generally do not like it when people change the name of someone. Its a personal pet peeve of mine. A name is all someone has, and changing it is a personal attack on someone. Don’t attack Coach Morris personally people, he is a stand up guy. You may not think he is a good coach, but you cant argue he is a class act.

The problem is when you do that to a man’s name, your attacking the man, and not his football credentials. But I wanted people to understand why…so thats why I left it. In the future I will probably remove them.

As I have discussed with 420, the title of this is inappropriate, and the 420 Bucsfan agrees with me.

Therefore I am closing down the comments for this post, as I dont want anyone getting ideas when the contest starts Monday.
