Raheem Morris Press Conference

Below are some quotes and my thoughts on Raheem Morris Press Conference which you can listen to here.

Star-divide

Speaking of Adams:

"He had a couple of 'That-A-Boy's' where he got out of his gap but he made the play in the backfield. You have to tell him to stay outside."

I don't applaud Adams for leaving his gap (no discipline) but I do applaud him for making inside moves. It makes me wonder how often Bates it making him play outside edge or 5-7 Gaps.

on Antonio Bryant:

Looked Healthy. Made it through an entire game. That's a positive sign.

Morris is digging for positives.

Reporter: Were you more cautious because of JJ?

No. We called more shots downfield in the 2nd half. We have to develop confidence. We have to develop WR QB relationships before we do that.

So....you were more cautious? I don't get it.

On how you coach JJ:

We are always going to play not cautious. We are always going to play fearless.

JoeBucsFan had a commentary on this. If that's true, than what happened with 4:03 left on the clock?

Where do you see this team after the first four games?

We are starting to get better. We have seem glimpses...we want to be a running team. We want to be a team who flys around and get our hands on the ball. We are starting to see that...

In a game where we had the opportunity and success running the ball and we were still only doing it 43% of the time, I question the play calling of Olsen. JJ shouldn't have been put in position to throw the ball 57% of the time.

Does youth give this team an excuse?

No. You don't always get Derrick Brooks walking into your locker room. You don't always get Barrett Ruud walking into your locker room. They are looking for answers not excuses.

Whoops. 'I ugh forgot I cut DB.' Also, if you love Barrett Ruuds leaderships and experience then why isn't he A) Captian B) still scheduled to be a FA after this season?

ON Donald Penn

He's been invisible. This is the first Penn question I have had all year and he's played against some of the best DE's in the league.

He is playing at a Pro-Bowl level.

We want to hear what you think about Morris comments, game-plan etc. This is a great place to make your voice heard on Morris.

Too much going on there today.

Not enough substance in this for me to justify it.

Mostly that they need to play with more intensity in the 2nd half.

Adams played well. Ronde and Aqib played well.

Thats about it.

His comments fustrate me

Alot of searching for the right answer. I’m guessing the PR director has coached him into not being completely honest with the press like he was earlier in the season. I’m just tired of the same excuse for losing every week. We need to do this, we need to do that. Well why don’t they start?

He shouldn’t be allowed to mentioned the players he released. He let them go and when he comments on them, he is admitting to making a mistake.

I hate to say it, but I want some age back. I want a team leader that is more like a father figure instead of a little brother. Mike Shanahan, Bill Cowher, Brian Billick to mention a few. Bring the big boys in and let the little kids play somewhere else.

Designed Pass Plays.

Whether JJ scrambled or not is irrelevant when it comes to the balance of playcalling.
