Happy Halloween On This Day Video! 10/31/1993; Trick or Treat PrimeTime Neon Deion Sanders!!!
Wouldn't you know it, eventually, the team with the most pumpkin like uniforms would come to life and Atlanta Falcons & fans would be the ones getting the trick while we get the treats; namely 4 touchdown passes for Craig Erickson in his first year starting, two of which go to WR Horace Copeland who does backflips after every score. ...and with good reason, as his last TD was at the expense of Prime Time Neon Deion Sanders, which just goes to show you that even the best corners make mistakes.
So what does he do when he scores 2 in one game? Well check it out, and the mask worn by Steve DeBerg On This Day.
...and Happy Halloween from Buc'em!

Is it just me or...
is Craig Erickson the most overlooked and underappreciated QB in Buccaneer history? He was pushed out by way of the “Franchise” QB in Trent Dilfer…

Not just you, I remember hoping we didnt pick Dilfer in 94, but assumed he would be good.
Wonder how Erickson would have worked out in 95 and under Dungy?
If anyone can get production out of Gaines Adams, it will be Rod Marinelli. Good Luck Gaines and thank you Bucs for restoring my confidence that there is accountability.

You didn't have to do much to excel in the Shula offensive scheme
The key thing was to hit passes that you HAD to at the end of a stalled drive to keep the chains moving. After the multiple off-tackle, up-the-middle runs… 1996, can’t even guess how he’d have looked, but 1997? Even Dilfer looked good that year.

True...until about week 14 I think it was.
Dilfer had one full year…96 week 10 to 97 week 14… give or take a game. after that…he had about 5 ok games in 98, and even less in 99.

Speaking of 1999W
It took me a while to get behind Shaun King — not because of anything about him personally. It was more with regards to the fact we have the local perchance to turn on “savior” QB’s. 1999 made “Cool Jazz” out to be a savior because he swooped in and outperformed what Dilfer was doing.
But again, you didn’t have to do much in order to accomplish that. Which is why Erickson could have excelled under the system and then some.
