Olsen changing the offense...on the fly?
I recentely heard on a local radio show that this was a possibility...
Apparentley Greg Olsen has been changing the offense through out the season. According with an interview with Jeramy Stevens he was quoted by saying " Sometimes we try the new play on GAME DAY for the first time". THEY don't even practice it!!! With this coming out along with the article about how we don't spend any money ( Wall Street Journal) its starting to really question my loyalty to this team. Any thoughts from everybody??

not the first time !
if i remember correctly gruden did the same thing last year, that would make sense since olsen is grudens guy . many different situatuion arise throughout the game and you never know what play will work or not unless you try !!

I dont know about questioning loyalty to a team over play calling.
I’d like to think as fans we are not that fickle. I supported the Bucs when they had Trent Dilfer as a QB, and Alvin Harper as a WR. With Rusty Tilman as a Defensive Coordinator, and Dave Moore as an H back. When Bo Jackson said No, and the Bucs looked at Dexter Jackson and said " Yes".
Our fans sticking by the team through thick and thin is why even during 14 losing seasons, we could put 30,000 in the stands while Baltimore (Colts), St. Louis (Cardinals), and Houston (Oilers) could’t put more than 7,000 in their stadiums.
14 losing seasons. Don’t lose faith over 6 …..games.
If anyone can get production out of Gaines Adams, it will be Rod Marinelli. Good Luck Gaines and thank you Bucs for restoring my confidence that there is accountability.

If anyone loses faith because of this season
then they don’t understand that we are really in better shape than other teams that declined in the past. Alot of teams start aging, salary cap is through the roof, and they suck. We atleast have plenty of cap to play with and a young team. With the right moves, we will be back on top of the NFC South in a matter of 2 to 3 years. I’m confident in that.

Thats not an unreasonable prediction.
I think we should see respectability next year some time.
I just hope we see a little fire this year somewhere.

I don't think it's unheard of for teams to run variations of a play for the firs time on gameday.
NFL playbooks are so complex that they are pretty easy to make variations to without players getting confused. Different motions, formations, etc. The zone scheme from what I can tell has stayed in place in the run game (or lack thereof).

I think that Olson stayed with what he knew, Gruden's playbook
The vertical threat isn’t there (or it may be and we just don’t throw it). But this offense is very similar to last years minus the shifting. Or at least the philosophy is the same.

Not bashing JJ
but he doesn’t see the field very well, I always see open receivers and he doesn’t. Granted I’m not the one being chased, but still.

I agree completely
He was handed the OC job, the plays are there….But I just dont understand…didnt Jags put in all these run plays and a few pass plays? were all the plays out of the shotgun, on 3rd and 2? Can we not line up in a pro set on 3rd and 2 and maybe run the ball? Other teams get 1st downs running the ball, we do have a good O line.

Yeah, Traditionally a pro set has two running backs, but I dont think you have to have the FB directly behind, then the tailback...

I might also have been thinking about the Wing T

Wing T
is Fullback in single set back, with backs lined up off tackle behind the line.

Is this
the third offense they’ve tried to adapt to this year? I have no problem trying to find the right things to work, but this coaching staff does seem to lack patience and often second guess themselves. I guess that all comes with experience.
