Fan Feedback: Ronde Barber; What to do in 2010?
In camp, we felt it was going to be a no brainer; a system corner who had excelled in the Tampa Two, now being asked to run a Man to Man defense?... when he struggled in his old system last year, to some extent.
Your the GM. You've seen Barber's play this year...
- What do you think? Has he struggled? Has he excelled?
- Do you like it?
- Is he coming back in 2010?
- Should we bring him back?

I agree 420, but Ronde has the chance to do what NO OTHER Buc hero could...
Walk away after a quality season.
Brooks, Sapp, Rice, Nickerson, Lynch, even Alstott, had the choice made for them, or werent on top of their game anymore.
I wonder if he will think of it that way.
Anyone?
If anyone can get production out of Gaines Adams, it will be Rod Marinelli. Good Luck Gaines and thank you Bucs for restoring my confidence that there is accountability.

I think the only thing shielding Barber from criticism are
is Sabby in the first part of the season and the DL and Bates in the second. Part of being 32nd in the league is because of the lack of pass-rush. QB’s have more time to make reads = more time for WR to get open. However, Barber is getting a lot of mismatches that he can’t handle. If the system doesnt change he needs to find a new team or retire.

Should be his choice
He hasn’t done anything to lose the job IMO, and I hope he does get to go out on his own. Not to mention they need some leadership on the team.

as a nickle? So he doesn’t start big deal…..

I'm not sure what the guy is gonna do
next year, but I guarantee you he wishes he retired after last season.
Maybe he will joining his brother in showbiz.

if he wants to play...
next year. I’d keep him. However I think I’d move him to the nickel so he’s covering guys like welker [ect] in the slot and I’d be looking for a quality #2 CB opposite Talib. Either through FA or Draft.

Honestly
I think we move him to saftey, it worked for Rod Woodson, Troy Vincent and a heck of alot of other older CB’s. Him and T-Jack FS/SS, it could work.

except for the fact
that he has trouble tackling these days. He isn’t really willing to stick his nose in there like he used to. I think he is done after this year.
You’re right about the fact that it would make our pass coverage much better.

Not only have I not seen him missing tackles, critics are surprised at how good of a year he is having so far......

Join his brother on Commentary
Thats is next stop, twins doing commentary get one on the sidelines one in the both. Thanks for all the good times and fun football but football is a young mans game at the corner postition either you have the speed or you don’t, to at least knockdown the ball now if you can’t make the tackle, or even look like Farve trying to make a tackle. Either go to the booth or start coaching.

Hell no I hope not
I would have kept Brooks before him he really can not cover 1 on 1 no he will not be back he brings no leadership to the team

Is his contract up?
They could trade him for a late round pick who would have a chance of being on the team in three years.

He is signed through 2011 as far as I can tell.
Other 2010 Free agents (not counting changed cap rules)…
Will Allen
Barrett Ruud
Angelo Crowell
Jermaine Phillips
Jimmy Wilkerson
Tim Crowder
Jeremy Trueblood
Donald Penn
Maurice Stovall
Antonio Bryant
Cadillac Williams
Its possible players with 4 years in the league will NOT be Free Agents until their 5th or 6th years in the league. It gets complicated.
