Thoughts ahead of the London game?
Hi folks, I'm covering the International Series match this weekend for a london news site (londonist.com), and wanted to get some fans' thoughts ahead of the match....
It's been a tough season so far, players traded away and missing through injury, coming up against a back-in-form Brady - do you think the game in London is a bad idea? Or are you happy that the franchise is pulling in new fans in the UK? Does anyone hope that the change of scenery might help spark a change in form?
How are you feeling about the season so far? Clearly the Bucs are at a rebuilding stage in the cycle.. is it a matter of writing off '09 and waiting for the future? Similarly, how do you feel about Morris as head coach? Is he the right guy to rebuild the team?
Look forward to your comments!

It's always nice to expand the game
but I don’t like giving away a home game.

I do understand the economics of games being played overseas...
…Expanding the NFL to other areas of the world to increase sales of merchandise, the presence of the league in general. I don’t like giving up a home game either, However, I also understand that every team will do it, so overall in the end it works out even.
I do NOT agree with moving a Superbowl out of the country, but to me, the ProBowl is a perfect game to export. After all, The overseas fans want to see our best players, not so much our teams, current Bucs UK and Patriots UK fans!
If anyone can get production out of Gaines Adams, it will be Rod Marinelli. Good Luck Gaines and thank you Bucs for restoring my confidence that there is accountability.

Would be better if I could go to the game
but I don’t have a problem missing a game here for it, at least not this year. I wish we could have sent a better team over there, but it is what it is. They are going over there because both teams make a boat-load of money doing it, and of course they’re always talking about expanding to London.

Yeah that almost certainly will never happen.
I know they are talking….but it will become a twice a year event very soon probably. If anything maybe it will get enough interest for a summer or spring league there like NFL Europe, but NFL UK instead?

Sadly, I agree.
With 3 Wembley sell outs in 3 years (a lot of which travel from all over Europe to come to the game), the mutterings about a London franchise for the NFL have been getting some support, but no-one over here can really see it realistically happening. The thing is, fans here are pretty loyal to their adopted US teams, whoever it may be, and probably wouldn’t even support their local London team!

Lets make a deal, you keep cricket there, we keep football here.
This game came at a time when the Bucs need to focus on the basics, not be distracted by a trip to England. Just bad timing for our team right now.

D. None of the Above
I like the idea of playing in London and think it’s good for the game and fans. As london_buc said, they sell out every year. Maybe when things are going badly and your team (our team) is struggling to find consistency, a distraction like London is just what is needed. In the very least, a team that has had a tough year will get to enjoy London’s vivacious night life.
Drinking and watching football since I still had short-term memory.
