BUCS WILL WIN THIS WEEK!
This is our break out game, dare I say???
We get Faine back. Maybe well actually able to run the ball. Caddies running hard and Ward had a big run last week. - I predict 150 + yards rushing
Johnson looked a lot more poised against Philly than the Redskins. He's making some good decisions. If a few of those passes weren't dropped in the first half, maybe we have a different ball game. Lets forget the 3 picks right now. Its a rite of passage. (Sanchez/Saints anyone?) On the upside, he made a lot of tough passes in the face of the #1 D, and he did it in Philly. They may even have the #1 pass rush right now, but don't quote me on that. Carolinas D should be a let down after last week. I say JJ has his break out game this week - I'll say 250 yards 2 TD's, 1 pick (Damn...did I actually say that?)
Clayton got called out. He'll continue to drop. But Bryant wont. Look for him to step it up against a sub par passing D. Winslow looked real solid last week, so he should have a big game as well. Stovall and Stroughter will make some plays too - Bryant 100 yards 1 TD, Winslow 1 TD
Our D is looking better each week. Yes they got burned deep again, but they did a good job containing the small stuff. They even got to Mc Nabb a few times. Were at home and we all know Delhomme - 2 picks, Ronde 1, Talib 1
Two more points I want to make -
2 of Philly's scores were off our picks. If Bryant and Clayton hadn't dropped those passes, we may have been tied or up going into the half. Against a team everyones picking to go to the Super Bowl this year.
We should have beaten Dallas and the Bills in Buffalo. We got clobbered by the Giants, a Playoff caliber team. We definitely should have beaten the Redskins. We hung in there against Philly, another Playoff caliber team. Only once were we not even in a game, and that was with Hop-A-Long Leftwich hobbling around against the Giants pass rush.
Drum roll please...............................
BUCS 21 - PANTHERS 17 (I can't believe I'm doing this...)
Something else could happen of course. This could be the week the Panthers get their run game on track, but forget I said it. We need our pick me ups when we can get them ;)

Steve Smith has not a touchdown to date
Me thinks thats about to change (at least my fantasy team hopes so). I handpicked DelHomme as Peyton’s bye week replacement from the preseason to face face the Bates D. I’ve stuck with him through all his troubles b/c I have that little faith in Bates.

Carolina will still rely on the Run
Delhomme will manage the game with about 200 yds
S.Smith will get 100 yds with a TD or 2
D. Williams will rush for about 190 and 2 to 3 TDs depending on if J. Stewart is hitting the goal line.
Plus the Carolina D will pop in a TD for themselves.

God help me, I wish this were true.
But I don’t believe it for a second.
Carolina fan, here, visiting from the lands of Cat Scratch Reader.
Carolina is not a good team. Don’t be confused by our success last season. We are a bad team this year. Good teams are defined by the quality of their depth, as it displays itself on special teams, and the explosiveness of their starters. Carolina’s starters are playing very lethargic football, and our special teams are bad bad bad (John Kasey excepted).
If your “face-ripped” coaches can devise a gameplan that features the run at a 60%+ ratio, you’ve got the backs to make that work for you. Don’t get me wrong, I really, really hope you throw the ball 70% of the time again, because that’ll make your prediction come true and we’ll be 2-3. But I don’t see it going down like that.

Gameplan?
First, thanks for stopping by. We are glad to hear from other fans. However, last week we threw the ball 76% of the time and are throwing about 67% of the time on the season. NYG, who have one of the worst run-defenses in the league, would have been a great time to run it. Yet, we got away from it early and often.
This truly is a battle of the NFC South

r3 what are you saying?
We are going to lose to the 0-5 Bucs? The offense spotted the ’Skins 14 points, who beat the Bucs. You must be working that reverse psychology hih?

Look, I made two non-Panthers-related predictions before this season began.
I’m trying to maintain some sense that I know what I’m talking about.
The first was that the Bengals would be a really good team this year with a much improved defense. Check.
The second was that the Bucs would surprise some folks who expected them to stink. Uncheck? They’ve got three very strong backs, a young and potentially dominant line, and Antonio Bryant. Think about that: Ward and Bryant each had 200 yard games against us. So I think they’ve got the tools to do some decent things… IF they run the ball. I didn’t count on their coaching problems.
But we stink right now. One good half against the Skins doesn’t change that. We are NOT a good team… we should still win, but I’m guessing it’ll be close. And the fact that I predicted DeAngelo Williams would lead the league in rushing isn’t helping my batting average…

Bryants production has dropped.
However he is shielded from criticism because of Michael Clayton and the QB’s.

Aqib Talib is our #1
CB for a reason, he shut down D. Jackson and Partially Santana Moss- why can’t he shut down Smith?

You do know you are playing the 3-1 Carolina Panthers right? RIGHT!
Oh wait that was last year. Trash talk is just no fun when you’re 1-3! You guys sound as bad as us Panther fans… wondering how you are going to get smacked around each week ;)
It wasn’t that long ago that Carolina and Tampa Bay were constantly battling for the tops of the NFC South, ATL was average, and the Saints’ well Aaron Brooks was their QB… LOL! Things sure have changed.

Love this comment!
I remember the first year of the NFC Nascar division. Everyone had given it to Tampa Bay by default. Then EVERY TEAM started to play lights out for the first 8 weeks! Since then, Every team at the bottom has become a playoff team the next year, and that looks to continue with New Orleans hot. (see Bucs fans, light; at the end of the tunnel! LOL) Every team in this Division has played in an NFC Championship game since its inception, and in fact, has had a team IN the championship game for just about every year.
Eagles by 17= The Bucs are what we think they are. Eagles by 10? Respectable. Eagle by<7? A moral victory. Bucs win? See you at the airport!

seeing this post...
depresses me. Every week I go through all the match-ups, stats and possible outcomes. Every Saturday I can’t sleep and I wake up on Sunday feeling like a little boy on Christmas…thinking YESSSSSS, THIS IS THE WEEK. This is the week we get our FIRST WIN of the season. Yet…..every week I come to realize that Santa just isn’t real. LOL. HOWEVER the ONLY and I mean ONLY way i see us losing this game is if Deangelo and Stewert go off and Caddy and Ward get stuck in the backfield. All of our games have been winnable other than the NYG. Obviously the scores will say different but thats a result of our 67% pass offense. And our we don’t feel like covering this reciever this play, defense. LOL anyway I agree with the post and I think we win this week. [Based on JJ and Caddy putting it all together on O] GO BUCS!! [Bring Christmas early this yr]

Look, don't get down on yourself.
Even if they won, you’ve still got to reconcile yourself with the fact that a single win is an aberration. They’re a bad team this year. Probably will be for another year or two. It’s not the end of the world. Just hope for a competitive team each week, and the emergence of young playmakers. Hoping for wins is .. well, it’s kind of self-defeating.
Believe me. We just beat the skins Sunday, and I don’t feel any better about the team than I did last week. The Skins are a bad team, and if Carolina was a good team we’d have beaten them soundly. We’re not. You’re not. It’s just not our year.

I've argued that it's a bigger priority
for the coaches to maintain the locker room than it is for them to get wins this season.

Sorry folks We are going to loose
We traded Adams to early he has no help rushing the passer we can’t stop the run and the pass we can’t cover at all. Steve Smith is going to have a good day he knows how to get open sorry Aqib you guys give up to many big plays he’s going to burn you and the rest of the guys back there like last year. Oh yeah they will be able to run on us to we are 3rd or 2nd to last in the run and passing is no better, so yes people this is a lost. I can not see Tampa winning until they stop giving up the big plays. Trading Adams is not going to change our defense now we really don’t have a pass rusher. I think we need to do what they did in Buffalo rent a billboard and tell the Coaching staff and the Glazer’s how we really feel.
by DMAN621 on Oct 17, 2009 9:32 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
We’re just lucky we got a 2nd rounder for Adams, he wasn’t gonna do any better here and it was time to give somebody else a shot. At this point there was nothing to lose and I think we gained from this.
As far as tomorrows game goes, I have no confidence in the coaching staff or the team. I hear that Carolina is just as bad or worse, but something tells me they’re gonna show up tomorrow. We’ll see, I’ll still be there cheering for my team regardless.

Yeah
One sack in 5 games explains a pass rusher. Also If Aqib shut down Santana Moss/Steve Smith (NYG)/ Mario Manningham/Desean Jackson. What makes you think he can’t shut down Steve smith now with T.Jack back. We are 5th worst in the run, thank you. The panthers O-line is not performing well and their OC is abandoning the run pretty quickly. Also, J.J is growing confidence with every start and if we can avoid the drops, we automatically become a better pass team.

Buc's loose again like I said They will loose
Sorry people I’ve been a fan for years we’ve been in every game except the Giants and we find ways to loose. No run defense no pass defense sure they shut Smith down when he caught one that hurt us as for the run well lets just remember last year I don’t see them getting it together until late in the season maybe will win 2 games

I could be wrong...
and I have been many times but I just see them in a no-win situation. The past few weeks doesn’t help any.
The Lions, after losing 20 straight games, beat the Redskins who beat the Bucs and just lost to the Chiefs to give them their first win of the season. The Eagles roled the Bucs easily who just got beaten by of all teams the Raiders. Teams I thought were worse than the Bucs are beating teams that the Bucs can’t even come close to beating. What does that say about the Bucs? Nothing positive!

After...
What the Patriots did to the Titans yesterday, We will get some idea of how we messure up to the Titans by the way the Patriots play us. I’m Really hoping it is not worse than the game yesterday.

well, I am sure if they Loosen up a bit, they wont lose that many more games.
And as for the two wins, and improving later in the year…..
yeah? and the problem with that is??
We’ll take it!
If anyone can get production out of Gaines Adams, it will be Rod Marinelli. Good Luck Gaines and thank you Bucs for restoring my confidence that there is accountability.
