On This Day VIDEO- 10/13/2002-Mike Alstott's Rumblin, Stumblin through the Browns.
It was the 6th game of the SuperBowl season. The offense had not yet caught on to Chucky's system. The defense was able to take that Gruden fire and rekindle their own that had dropped off steadily for the last couple of years. Leading by a couple of scores, Jon Gruden turned to Mike Alstott to kill of the clock, and what he did in the 4th qtr was clock Cleveland Browns! They're not in chronological order, but the Best is saved for last.

What always amazed me was the he went to the pro bowl
as a FB. Yet most of his yardage was done when he was lined up at the TB position. He was a pitiful blocker as a FB.

This is awesome
What a great player this guy was. Always mad love for the A-Train!
This first poster must hate his life. I mean really, you couldn’t wait to put down what this guy has done. KYS tool!

Alstott was an ok blocker, who actually became a very GOOD blocker later on in his career.
To me he has just as impressive numbers as a Tailback than as a registered Fullback. They only put him in as a fullback (to the probowl) because they liked the player he was. The guy was tough as nails, and even when he went through fumbling periods, he was mentally tough enough to get over it.

The A-train was exciting to watch !!
Those were the good ol days ! I use to get so pumped up watchin him plow through guys and earn those tough yards. Yes he wasnt that good of a blocker but man could he run and dish out punishment ! He reminded so much of Larry Czonka.

Czonka is a very good comparison.
I think Riggins is probably the closest though.
