Jagodzinski Hired as Offensive Coordinator
From ESPN.com
Former Boston College head coach Jeff Jagodzinski, fired for interviewing with the New York Jets, has landed an NFL job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers named Jagodzinski their offensive coordinator on Thursday.
This is a key hire for new Bucs head coach Raheem Morris, who is only 32 and has a history on the defensive side of the ball. Jagodzinski was instrumental in the development of Matt Ryan at Boston College and has previous NFL experience.
Before becoming the head coach at Boston College, Jagodzinski was the offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers in 2006. He coached an offense that featured quarterback Brett Favre, 1,000-yard rusher Ahman Green and 1,000-yard receiver Donald Driver.
Boston College was 21-7 in his two years at the helm.
Information from ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas was used in this report.

WOO
I am actually really excited about this hire. The only thing I dont like is that this heightens our chance of taking Freeman in the first round. I think that would be a mistake.

How many projects does an OC want at one time?

I like it A LOT! I actually suggested this from the outset, but I think he will be very successful in Tampa.

Also.....
this means he will implement the zone run blocking offense. This is what Denver runs and also what they ran in BC. I don’t think we have the correct offensive lineman in place for this. You typically want quicker guys.

.
I dont think any of our interior lineman will have trouble making that transition. As far as the tackles go, one of those guys has to go. With the zone blocking scheme, many types of runners can make a rich living. With that said, i dont see us going running back early. Josh Johnson also needs to be seriously evaluated and get to know Jags well because he will determine what the Bucs do in the draft.

hell ya !
I’m now completely on the Raheem Morris band wagon !! this hire is great and was probaley the best choice out there ! the two years at BC they averaged 400 yds of offense ,get that o-line switched over to the new scheme and secure a quarterback, the future looks bright !
