Sad News: Julius Peppers wants out of Carolina
...UPDATE...
DE Julius Peppers wants OUT of Carolina. Great right? That's freaking AWESOME. My dreams are close to becoming a reality, that's until you read that he wants to play in a 3-4 defense and for a contender. Two things the Buccaneers are not. We are in rebuild mode, but we do have a disgusting amount of cap space to throw around. Plus we do present a challenge for him, as the D-Line needs help and he would have to find a way to finagle jersey number #90 from Gaines Adams.
Peppers agent explains his decision:
"The front office has been informed of my desire to explore opportunities with other NFL teams following the expiration of my contract next month." Pepper's said. "At this point in my career, I am seeking new challenges that will allow me to grow, develop and reach my personal potential on the football field."
It will be interesting to see if the Panthers stab him in the back with the Franchise Tag, if they do... yikes, remember that 2.5 sack 2007 performance? Yeah...

Jerry, you just made my weekend!!!!
However, I will NOT give up 2 first round picks to get him if he is franchised. Coach Morris on the otherhand just might…………

I bet Peppers would change his mind about playing 3-4 after seeing that Raheem Morris is HC....
I have a feeling Morris is going to atract a lot of high profile players

i cant fathom
the Panthers franchise tagging Peppers… it’s not in their best interest to return a disenfranchised athlete

They can Franchise
him and look for a good trade partner. They will probably be ready to accept less than what the franchise tag requires.. In hopes of at least getting some value out of him.

I don't think he would....
… not on a paper-thin, aging team with so many needs to fill. At least I hope our brass wouldn’t.
Cannons... fire them.

i dont see a situation in which the Panthers
could afford to franchise Peppers both monetary wise and for health of their defensive unit
