GO HIRE SHANAHAN NOW

I think we've seen all that Gruden ahs to offer.  He's an above average coach but his indecisiveness and petty, immature attitude towards some of his players have held this team back.  He seems to make it all about him and not about putting his players in the best possible positions for success.

Shanahan needs a fresh start and would be a perfect fit for Tampa Bay.  Players respect him and he's a proven winner.

Gruden & Allen - it's time to go.  You were 9-3 and lost the last 4 games and missed the playoffs.  Bring in Shanahan.

Yeah your right. I mean, the defense had nothing to do with the 4 game slide at the end of the year. Where's the accountibility here? Dont blame Gruden, blame the D.

I do like the idea of Mike SHanahan in Pewter and Red though. Any fan would. The guy is a legend. But I say Shanahan will take a year off and will come back in a year. This will give Gruden another year and one more chance. If not, then Shanny can run things.

Interesting since you said since 1995

Because Gruden sure wasn’t a coach in 1995.. He didn’t even become a head coach until 97, 98?

He also has coached for 2 different teams since his tenure so how would he show up in this list.

So lets relook at that list and make it since 2001. How far back down on Winning Percentage does Shanahan fall.. sure wouldn’t be top 5. Lets compare the two then and I think we will find pretty equal winning percentages.

I would also like to add that you don’t have any defensive stats up there. The HEAD coach is responsible for the entire team. True, Monte led our defense.. but this is still a decision that Gruden allowed to happen. He had every right to stick his egotistical head into the defense, but he didn’t.

1995 is when Shanahan started coaching

How many times has a Gruden led offense out gained a Shannahan offense since Gruden has been coaching?

I stand by my statement that Shanahan is a better coach.

With our O line maturing Shanahan would have a back for the Bucs hitting 1500 yards easily

1995 is when Shanahan started coaching

but this was years before Gruden became a head coach.. Don’t you see the unfair lean towards Shanahan in these stats. The only way to truly compare is only from 2001 to current, and I don’t think you want to show those stats because it makes Gruden look better than Shanahan. But I don’t think Gruden is a better coach, just very similar.

Secondly, you knock Gruallen and then make a positive remark about the oline. This feat is all credit of Gruallen so their pick of player personnel must’ve been somewhat decent as to turn a horrendous oline to one of the premier lines in the league.

And Shanahan wouldn’t have a 1500 yard back this season. Our oline is big and wide. He needs fast agile blockers for his zone blocking scheme to work. The players would learn a whole new system and this would take at least a season to learn (Remember Carolina started zone blocking in 2007).

Now I am not against a Gruden and Shanahan switch. I actually think Gruden would succeed in Denver’s situation and Shanahan would suceed in ours, but I’m not going to crown shanahan for something that he did over a decade ago when it is barely 5-6 years removed from Grudens achievement.
