Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

THANKGOD FOR THE NY JETS!!

WE DIDNT NEED FAVRE,  WE HAVE GARCIA AND HE`S THE REASON WHY WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS LAST YEAR. NOW GARCIA HAS TWO YEARS UNDER GRUDENS SYSTEM. WE NEED CONSISTANCY AT QB HERE IN TAMPA. AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT SAW THIS WOULD`VE BEEN A BAD MOVE? NOT TO MENTION A STAB IN THE BACK FOR ALL THE WORK GARCIA PUT INTO THIS TEAM? JEFF GARCIA IS ONE OF THE TOP 5 QB`S IN THE NFL AT THE MOMENT. FAVRE IS OF COURSE A LEGEND AND ALL THAT "BLAH BLAH BLAH"....BUT CMON, GARCIA IS A BETTER FIT. AND WHEN WE WIN THE NFC SOUTH AGAIN YOU WILL ALL AGREE WITH ME. GARCIA HANDLED THIS CIRCUS WITH CLASS AND NOW HE WILL COME AND KICK ASS 4-SURE THIS YEAR. THE JETS NEEDED FAVRE A HELL OF ALOT MORE THAN WE DID. I WISH THEM LUCK AND GOOD FOR THEM. WITH GARCIA AND GRIESE WE HAVE A DARN GOOD QB SITUATION AND WE`LL BE FINE. BETTER THAN WE HAVE IN MANY MANY SEASONS! GO BUCS!!

I agree

Stixx, I agree with you. I believe that Brett Favre would have messed up the whole system that John Gruden has been creating for years now. Jeff Garcia is more than able to get the job done. After getting the Bucs to the playoffs last year he shouldn’t have to worry about losing the job to Brett “overrated” Favre. Also I was reading that if we had got Favre that Garcia and Simms would have been gone and Luke McCown would have learned from Favre. So what happens in 2 or 3 years when Favre would have retired or whatever? Would McCown be the starter? Nothing against Luke, but I think he would need a little longer to develope.

Will you guys be saying the same thing when Garcia goes down (because he will)...

Then what? You think we are playoff bound with Brian Griese or Luke McCown? Favre would have brought stability to the position because he has started in 200+ games in his HOF career. Yes Favre throws interceptions, but his passing yards/touchdowns/completion percentage surely make up for that. Like I said before, say what you want…but Garica is no Favre. And how does Bruce Allen and Jon Gruden look Jeff in the face and say your our guy when Garcia knew that the Bucs organization made an offer for Favre? Theonly thing I can hope for is that Garcia plays for the guys in that locker room because they universally have said that Garcia is our guy. Only time will tell.

As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about. --Shaun of the Dead
