BUCS WIN!
Final Score: :: Bucs 27 - Patriots 10 ::

QB Brian Griese will START Today's game against the Patriots. - St. Pete Times

WR Joey Galloway, QB Jeff Garcia, and DT Jovan Haye are expected to miss today's game against the Patriots. - St. Pete Times

Despite a sore foot, TE Ben Troupe is expected to play today. No word on FB B.J. Askew. - St. Pete Times

The Bucs have already started trimming that 81 man roster down to 53 men. The first casualty? LT Luke Petitgout. I'm pretty shocked by this move and thats only because our depth is really lacking at LT specifically. This opens the door for Donald Penn, who was probably never going to give up his vice grip on the position anyway. Hopefully Jeremy Zuttah can fill in when needed. - St. Pete Times

Rather than allow Petitgout's roster spot to begin the descent to a 53 man roster, the Bucs have gone ahead and signed J.D. Runnels, a third-year fullback out of Oklahoma. I'm not sure what this says about Askew's ability to stay healthy... - St. Pete Times

Word is Patriots QB Tom Brady did not make the flight down to Tampa...

Kick returner

Question for you guys… who is returning kicks/punts for the bucs this year? I heard spurlock but the rookie jackson might be in the mix?

Spurlock

will out of the gates and he should in all honesty, but DJax should immediately be back there to return kicks with him. DJax’s situation has me baffled this off-season. The Bucs burned a 2nd Round Draft Pick on the guy and they’ve barely showed an intention to use him as a Wide Receiver or within the Returning Game thus far.

I know he practices extensively with the Wide Receiving Unit, so one play a game in the Pre-Season doesnt warrant the work he’s putting in at the position during Training Camp. Again it is the Pre-Season so I can understand the Bucs holding the guy back and not revealing too many of the situations in which they plan to use him for the regular season, but this looks a lot like the situation last season with Gaines Adams and how he didnt get on the field much (especially as a starter) because he was a Rookie…

I understand the hierarchy and such, but a 1st Round Draft Pick starts immediately as long as he isnt a Quarterback and i think the same goes for a 2nd Round Draft Pick in most cases. I’m hopeful that DJax sees more playing time in the regular season, because he brings a spark to the game when he touches the ball…

Welcome to the site man!!

Not to get too excited but

The Bucs have looked very impressive in the first two preseason games. It may not mean much, but it looked like we were going against the Pat’s starting defense for the most of the game, and we ran the ball at will. If our offensive line plays all year like they did today, we can run the ball very well and be a top tier football team.

their play thus

far has been very encouraging.. Hopefully Zuttah can step up and fill the void Joseph’s injury will inevitably create… I’d like to see A LOT more out of the Wide Receiving Unit as a whole. Hopefully they get extensive opportunities against the Jaguars Saturday
