The Buccaneers CUT a QB!!! See Ya Later Bruce Gradkowski!
Today the Bucs released QB Bruce Gradkowski. Better to do it now to give the kid a chance to catch on somewhere else. This leaves us with only 24 QB's left on the roster.
JScott:
I love the 24 QB's comment, hilarious. I don't know about you guys, but I'm shocked by this move. Not that it shouldn't have happened, but that it happened so soon. I think its great. Obviously it sucks for Bruce, but its the thing to do and like my man above said, it gives him time to find another team if there is such a thing. I can't believe Chucky let one go... now let's hope he doesnt miss the congestion and add another QB...
It's not looking to good for Simms: Garcia, Griese, McCown, Johnson.... Simms. I'm pulling for Chris to beat out McCown, but its going to be tough. He's got the ability though..
You better BRING IT!!

Good riddance!
I knew it was coming, and I’m glad its Gradkowski we are showing the door, now we just need to unload Simms and it will be all good… He had his chance, he sucked and killed our entire 06 season, and that will be his legacy in TB

Keep Simms, dump Griese
For me personally, I would like to see the Bucs keep Simms. He gave up his freakin sleen for this team for cripes sake! I think we owe it to him to give him a chance. With that said, I know the Simms is sick of Jon Gruden’s antics and would never be a successful QB as a Buc under Gruden’s system.
So, here’s what I think will happen. Garcia’s sorry ass will be our starter (he totally is pissing me off with this contract crap). McCown will beat out Griese as our backup and Griese and newly drafted Johnson will fight it out as to who will hold the clipboard. I honestly wouldn’t be suprised if Griese is let go after camp and the Bucs go into the regualr season with Garcia, McCown, and Johnson.

I meant spleen obviously, not sleen
And as for Simms? he is traded for a late round draft choice

Garcia, McCown and Johnson would be ideal imo, we let Griese go for a reason last time and we seem to have forgotten that. I understand that McCown didn’t get it done last season when he had the chance, he needs to learn how to get rid of the freakin ball, but really, is denying him snaps to learn and handing them to Griese really the right way to go about this?

its not the right way to go about it
But I believe Griese would do a better job at this point than McCown would, if not, why did the Bucs bring him back (basically against his will if you read into the situation)..
Garcia is the key to the ship, if he goes down, we’re screwed any way, as none of our back-ups are capable of sustaining anything. With Griese in there, I’m at least mildly confident that he can keep the offense a float, but even then who knows.
