Decisions, Decisions

Who would you pick if both were available?

CB Mike Jenkins or WR DeSean Jackson?

Personally, I feel the need for an impact CB is more of a need than a WR at this point. IMO I believe we can still land a pretty good WR in the 2nd or 3rd round. Sad but true, reports have the Bucs drafting yet another QB. Gruden is gaga for San Diego product Josh Johnson and maybe even Delaware's Joe Flacco. I'm sure somebody will take a gamble on Chris Simms will for a late pick. Gradkowski will be cut by the end of camp. This will leave us with Garcia and Griese/McCown fighting for the backup spots. Don't be suprised if another young QB is drafted in pewter and red.

You better BRING IT!!

great question bro
Ya'll know how much I love the thought of the Bucs drafting DeSean Jackson.... with that said, despite Gruden's inability to field a decent offense (no thanks to his main man bruce allen). The defense is the only thing that has kept us relatively competitive in the NFL...

I put all of my trust in Monte Kiffin and his defensive scouts and if they feel Jankins is the pick so be it....

I realize a WR rarely ever contributes as a rookie, which is why I focus on Jackson's ability to return punts, but if an absolute stud like Jenkins is still there (he's basically a lock to produce in the NFL), then I have to go with him... as he could immediately step in and produce...

If both are available or one of the two and the Bucs still pass, man I'll be steaming....

Excellent post though!

and the Quarterback situation
It would be nice to see the Bucs stick with Simms a little longer. They've invested so much time, money, and effort into the guy, why throw that away? Especially now that we actually have a respectable offensive line. The line Simms played behind would have resulted in any other QB receiving the same fate Simms did...

I hope the Bucs cut ties with Gradkowski, he's showed absolutely nothing since joining the team. Luke McCown is nice, but he seems to repeat his mistakes over and over...

If the Bucs draft a QB, i think it spells the end for McCown, Simms, and Gradkowski

And although i see the logic in bringing in Griese, I hate the fact that he's back and it cost us a draft pick... shameful

Not gonna happen.......
I too would like to see Simms stay with the team. However, the minute they signed old fogey Griese it sent a message directly to Simms. Though we've invested alot of time in Simms, thankfully alot of dough wasn't sent his way when when signed him to a 2 year 5 million dollar deal in 2007.

I do agree with your assesment that if (or when) we draft another QB, that McCown could see his days end as a Buc too. I'm not sure Gruden would be willing to go into training camp with Garcia, Griese, and the rookie as his 3 QB's though. So we'll have to wait and see how this QB carousel plays out.
