Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL Playoff Bound? Do you care?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are (9-3) with the final quarter of the season remaining to be played. Despite the record, the performances from week to week have really been a mixed bag: The Bucs spanked the Falcons and Panthers, got up ended by the Broncos, nearly lost to the Chiefs, and the Detroit Lions gave them a bigger fight than could be expected from a winless club. With that said, it appears at least a Wild Card appearance is in the cards considering the free fall the Redskins have recently experienced. Obviously all we want is for this team to make the Playoffs year in and year out, anything else is icing on the cake, but what’s your confidence level in this team and their Playoffs chances?
I’m not overly confident in this team’s chances should they make the playoffs, but I have to admit that I feel they have a better shot at advancing then they did last season. I’ve never seen this team comeback to win so many ball games in a season. Whether that will help them against the New York Giants of the world is a question to be answered when the challenge presents itself. Its games like the Dallas Cowboys match-up that stop me from getting overly excited about a Playoff run. Don’t get me wrong, I’m ecstatic as a fan to see my team be so successful and potentially make a Playoff berth two years in a row, but I’m not going to Vegas on their odds for a Super bowl run. How about you? Do you feel this team has a shot in the Playoffs?

I'm nervous...
…about the playoffs, because even though the Bucs are 9-3 right now, I still see a gap between them and the big boys. I think Dallas with all cylinders pumping can score on anyone. Carolina obviously has its ups and downs. The Giants have been rolling all year. Not to say the Bucs aren’t having a great year, I just think it’ll be hard to make a real run at the Super Bowl.

the thing that freaks me out
is that we lost to the Cowboys with Brad Johnson at the helm, I’m not convinced we can run with the elite teams like you said

The Bucs can win it all.
If the Bucs win in Carolina and go 2-1 the rest of the way, they will get the number two seed in the (even a loss in Carolina isn’t prohibitive – winning out after that is also likely to earn the two seed).
The two seed means a first-round bye and a likely visit by Arizona or the winner in the North (remember for the wildcard team to face the two seed, both divisional winners would have to lose!) All of those teams are eminently beatable. A win there would put the Bucs in the NFC championship game. This means a likely trip to NY to face the Giants – unless – the G-men are distracted by the Burress situation and lose their first round game (probably to a WC team – Dallas or Carolina probably) In that case, the NFC championship game would be in Tampa.
This isn’t a pipe dream or pie in the sky. The Bucs have a definite under-the-radar chance to win it all…

it’s just tough to envision the cards falling in line for the Bucs… That’s what the ride is all about though right? ha! Should be interesting and exciting…
