BREAKING NEWS: Cadillac Williams to return to PRACTICE!!!

...UPDATE #2...
I wanted to leave the Rays World Series Congrats Post up for an entire day (as they earned it), but this news could not wait. Carnell 'Cadillac' Williams will RETURN to practice Wednesday reports Rick Stroud of the St. Pete Times. Here's Gruden on his return:
"All indications are that the Cadillac is ready to come out of the garage and take some runs." Gruden said. "I think this guy has a chance to be ready to go quickly. Boy, he could give us a lift."
FANTASTIC, Welcome back Caddy!!!! Warrick Dunn is questionable for the game Sunday against the Cowboys after sustaining a pinched nerve in his neck against the 'Hawks. I can't forsee Caddy getting regular season action, but you would have to think he is close. At any rate, the Bucs now have three weeks to determine whether to keep Caddy or put him back on the PUP list for the rest of the season... We shall see...
…UPDATE…
Cadillac Williams will not be permitted to practice this week, although his six week hiatus is up. The Bucs now have another three weeks to monitor Caddy’s progress and to determine whether to allow him to practice with the team or not. If not (after three weeks), Caddy would be put on injured reserve for the rest of the season. If they allow him to practice, they would then have another three weeks from that decision to determine whether he is able to withstand the rigors of regular season football. Here’s Gruden on the situation:
"We're going to keep looking at him," Gruden said. "He's getting better and better and better. We're going to continue to work with him privately. . . It won't be this week that he's activated." - St. Pete Times
How nice of a luxury is that for Gruden? He essentially has six weeks on top of the past six weeks to determine whether or not to utilize Caddy. A lot can happen in those six weeks. I don’t think it’s ideal by any stretch of the imagination, but how sick would Earnest Graham at FB be with Warrick Dunn and Cadillac sharing the RB duties? That’s probably 100% unlikely, but it would be interesting to watch… Bar none it appears Caddy will resume his career at some point with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and that’s about all you can ask for considering the injury he sustained.
The Bucs are (3-2) and that means they have a decision on the horizon. Remember that young promising draft pick out of Auburn they selected with the 5th overall pick in the NFL Draft a couple years ago? Cadillac Williams you say? You might remember he was put on the PUP List toward the end of the Pre-Season. With that the Bucs delayed their decision on whether to welcome him back to the field of play for another six weeks. That sixth week ends when the play clock strikes zero against the Carolina Panthers this Sunday.
I know it's not what Caddy wants to hear, but if I were the Bucs I'd just sit him. #1 Earnest Graham is averaging 5.9 yards a carry, #2 Warrick Dunn is averaging 5.1 yards a carry, #3 if Michael Bennett can't even dress for games, there's no way Caddy should be allowed to. Instead Cadillac ought to shut it down, study his playbook for the umpteenth time and prepare to be the comeback player of the year next season. I'd love to watch Caddy play, but the offensive as a whole isnt built for a project at Runningback. If he were to return I think it could potentially end his career... What do you think?

I'm a big Caddy fan...
…but I’m not sure he would help the offense this season. It would mean taking carries away from Graham or Dunn, who are both doing pretty well.

yeah, i concur
there isnt the need for Caddy at this point. Any team in the NFL would kill for a back that averages 5+ yards a carry, forget having two of them…
hopefully Caddy understands this and keeps working hard

CADILLAC MAN
I think they should let him take a few snaps. He`s been down for along time and if he sees fit to play and so do the docs..why not? We could use some excitement around here because the play calling sucks bad. If he isnt ready yet sit him out, if he`s ready to go, play him. We have a good running game and a healthy CADILLAC would and should make it much better.

LET MY RB PLAY!
I say if Caddy is ready to return they let. The issue that they have to many RB’s already can be solved no problem, B.J. Askew is out and there is no insight to when he will be back, and sundays game vs Carolina Ernest Graham showed he can play FB wit ease he did a great job blocking for the run which led to Warrick Dunn’s 30th one-hundred rushing yard game. I know what some people might say that Caddy and Dunn are both not power backs and they might need Graham for a full power runs, well there’s two possibilities there, 1. have Graham run the ball as a FB, 2. move Graham to RB for the play and have Alex Smith lead the block or have him move to FB, Jon Gruden did say they were preparing smith to play FB any ways before Graham stepped up and took the spot. I believe that Caddy will be nothing but a plus for the offense as he has been for past seasons.

Being the HUGE Cadillac fan that I am.......
I KNOW Caddy can make a significant contribution, especially if Dunn could be out. That would mean Graham would continue to be the primary fullback. Cadillac’s fresh legs would be very welcoming.
