Bucs complete Trade for Plummer

We have (5) QB's:

Chris Simms
Jeff Garcia
Bruce Gradkowski
Luke McCown

And . . .

Jake Plummer

The Bucs and Broncos have completed the trade and the Bucs sent over a 2008 conditional Draft Pick.

Why might you ask:

I only have one possible scenario and that is that the Houston Texans covet Jake Plummer and Jake Plummer covets the Texans.  Maybe the Bucs think they can spin Plummer off to the Texans.  Regardless this is all insane and just frustrating.  Why throw away a draft pick?

Maybe its not CRAZY
Tampa just took 2 of the top QB freeagents off the market today.
I think probably skill wise this year, the 2 best.
The draft choice is conditional and it is a 2008 draft pick.If Plummer never plays again we dont pay anything to Denver. If Plummer chooses to play in Tampa we have Great competition for QB this year.If at the end of preseason we feel we need to get rid of someone we have some trading power to use to our advantage. If he chooses to comeback in 2008 I am sure we will have to give a lot less in draft picks to Denver. Or we trade him next year and we could possibly pick up another needed player .
After all we know we have a few holes in our team! I am sure we will still have needs next year, HA HA.
And if we get the opportunity to draft Calvin Johnson, I think we will have someone to throw to him.

Maybe its not CRAZY!

I think
you could be right about it not being crazy.  It does make sense to stack this particular team with veteran QB play.  Even if one of the veteran QB's never takes a snap.  For nothing else, this at least forces Chris Simms to settle down and either make Gruden play him or concede his playing time for another two years.

I feel deep down that Jake Plummer will never feel what its like to put on a Tampa Bay Bucs jersey.  I think the Bucs have every intention to trade him off; potentially to the Texans.

If the Bucs do keep Plummer then they have a decision to make, because they have (4) QB's.  When has a team ever gone in to a season with that many QBs?  haha.  Not to mention all of the time and effort Jon put into making Bruce Gradkowski an NFL QB.

Worse case scenario:  Plummer plays for the Bucs and we lose a 2008 4th Round Pick.  For the security that he provides; I'm not so sure I have a problem with it.

I'm just sad because I had a perfect fantasy trade for the Bucs and now that they moved like lightning on Free Agency, my post is no-longer relevant.  Bah!

Thanks for coming aboard man, sorry about the long post back at you!!!!

I just hope
it takes off so we can build a large enough community full of different personalities for Buc fans to meet and greet and get everything off their minds
